Liverpool is hosting an immersive show that brings the masterpieces of Vincent van Gogh to life in a cinematic multimedia experience.
Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is an innovative production by Annerin Productions and Paquin Entertainment Group. It seamlessly combines more than 300 of the post-Impressionist legend’s paintings with state-of-the-art technology and an expertly curated musical soundtrack. The result is a captivating retelling of the story of one of history’s most significant artists.
More than five million people in the United States and Canada have already witnessed it, and it’s now making its way to the UK. Liverpool’s Exhibition Centre Liverpool on its renowned waterfront will be the venue for this must-see show for a limited time, running from 27 June to 14 July.
The Immersive Experience of Beyond Van Gogh brings the artist’s breathtaking paintings to life by transforming them from 2D images to fully immersive 3D scenes that move and flow with vibrant colors, providing an exhilarating experience for all.
Immerse yourself in some of the most iconic artworks of all time, such as The Starry Night, Sunflowers, and Terrace of a Café at Night, and witness them come to life around you. Additionally, get lost in a collection of his self-portraits that offer a revealing glimpse into the artist’s life, some of which might even seem to blink back at you.
This immersive experience takes guests on a voyage through the artist’s world, starting from darkness and culminating in light. The experience is heightened by the inclusion of the artist’s dreams, thoughts, and words, all set to a rousing symphonic score. This captivating narrative is sure to appeal to both new and established art enthusiasts, as well as fans of Van Gogh.
After entering the Introduction Hall, visitors have the opportunity to connect with Vincent van Gogh through personal letters that he wrote to his greatest supporter, his brother, Theo. From there, visitors are guided into the Immersive Room, which is the main attraction of the experience. Inside the room, Van Gogh’s paintings are removed from their frames and are allowed to dominate the space, providing the audience with an up-close and detailed look at his work. The immersive experience is designed to spark the imagination of visitors in a playful and dreamlike manner. As the visitors are surrounded by vibrant flowers, bustling cafes, and breathtaking landscapes, the paintings shift and swirl across the walls and floor, creating a truly mesmerising experience.
Connecting with Van Gogh’s world is made easy, even for those unfamiliar with his paintings, providing a glimpse into the artist’s life.
Inside the exhibition itself, there are special Saturday morning yoga sessions that you can take part in. If youperience tickets purchase VIP Ex, you can enjoy selected Beyond Van Gogh merchandise, flexible arrival times and fast track entry.
