Threshold Festival returns with a free hybrid event for their final outing – Threshold X

Threshold announce final festival outing with FREE hybrid event – Threshold X.

The team at Threshold Festival have released the dates for their tenth and final multi-arts event, taking place online and (restrictions permitting) in the Baltic Triangle’s District live music venue on April 9th and 10th, 2021.

The festival, which was postponed last year due to COVID-19 will be the swan song of the annual celebration of grass roots music and arts, marking a decade of events and celebrations. It will feature performance and original artwork from artists from Liverpool, the UK and further afield, as well as discussion panels, workshops and DJ sets.

“It’s such a difficult time for all of us, so as well as wanting to say goodbye to Threshold properly, we want to create something that people can look forward to in the Spring when things are likely to still be in an uncertain place.” – Kaya Herstad Carney, Artistic Director.

Taking place mostly online, Threshold Festival X will utilise online platforms such as Zoom and Twitch to maximise the reach into as many homes as possible.

District is booked as the only live venue of the festival, but whether or not there will be audience members permitted will depend on the landscape of the pandemic in April. If audiences are permitted it will, more than likely, be dramatically reduced and socially distanced; all in-line with COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Most of the online content will be available to all for free, while ticket holders who purchased passes previously will get priority access to physical events (should they choose to and should they be able to go ahead) plus access to exclusive online content as well as a choice of merchandise.

“We’re fully aware that the ever-changing nature of the current climate will dictate what we are able to do physically over the festival weekend, but regardless of this, the online offering will be to the highest standard we can provide. We’re very grateful to those who purchased tickets to the postponed event and we will make sure anyone with a pass will be looked after in true Threshold style.” – Chris Herstad Carney, Producer

Those who purchased tickets for the postponed 2020 Threshold Festival can contact the team via social media or through the website to find out more, but the reassurance is that ticket holders will be prioritised for all content, be it physical or exclusive online.
