The Watering Can has announced the much-anticipated ‘Return of the Roast’ and is opening booking lines even earlier this year due to popular demand for their legendary Sunday roasts from October 15th through spring 2024.

Customers book weeks in advance to secure a table at the stunning venue nestled in the idyllic surroundings of Greenbank Park for a traditional roast with all the trimmings.

The Watering Can has been inundated with requests for the ‘Return of the Roast’, which has been lovingly referred to as being ‘As good as ya ma’s’ by many regulars on social media, and this year they are offering a mouth-watering 2-course menu for £26 per person.

The new menu is flavorful, with fruit and vegetables sourced locally, and starters include a variety of dishes such as cold smoked salmon, mini chicken tikka skewers, and pan-fried prawns.

Roast free-range chicken supreme with pork and caramelised leek stuffing and Yorkshire pudding, 28-day-aged roast rump of beef with Yorkshire pudding or the ever-popular Field mushroom, butter bean and mixed nut roast are among the main courses. All served with roast potatoes, maple syrup and thyme-roasted carrots, broccoli and kale, and homemade meat or vegetable gravy.

You can also get a lamb rump with buttery colcannon mash, peas and pancetta, and mint-flavored gravy, or a black lentil and vegetable dahl with spinach and coconut served with chapati. To accompany the roasts, a variety of delectable sides are available, including The Watering Can’s famous truffle cauliflower cheese.

This year’s menu also includes a variety of mouthwatering home-made desserts, such as a traditional sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and honeycomb, a flavorful peach apple, cinnamon crumble with vegan custard or a tangy lemon curd tart with Italian meringue and candied flowers.

Make the most of your Sunday by trying some of the new aperitifs or a boozy coffee.

Owner Keith Perryman said:

“Our Sunday Roasts are incredibly popular with our customers travelling from miles away to enjoy them.  Since the beginning of September customers have been asking when they are returning and our ‘Roast Reservation Hotline’, as the staff affectionately call it,  is busier than ever before. ”

With only two more Sundays left, spots are filling up quickly, so making a booking as soon as possible is highly recommended.

Is there a better way to spend a Sunday, whether it’s with family, with friends, or strolling around Greenbank Park, than in the stunning surroundings of The Watering Can, eating one of Liverpool’s finest roasts? Be quick because tables fill up quickly!
