One of Liverpool’s finest hidden gems, The Sefton Park Hotel, has begun an extensive and sympathetic refurbishment of its 16-bedroom boutique hotel, housed within a beautiful Victorian villa overlooking Sefton Park. The £250,000 transformation, set for completion in Spring 2026, promises a seamless blend of modern luxury and timeless heritage.
The works include upgraded bathrooms, lighting, and furnishings, all carefully designed to preserve the building’s original period features. Each bedroom will feature Victorian-style sanitaryware, marble tiling, brass fittings, and wood panelling, creating an atmosphere of refined sophistication. Thoughtful lighting and elegant décor will ensure every room radiates both comfort and charm.

With four rooms already completed, guests can now enjoy a “modern vintage” aesthetic that combines contemporary elegance with the building’s historic character. The design vision throughout has been curated to deliver a timeless, relaxing ambience in one of Liverpool’s most beloved settings.
The project also extends to the hotel’s public areas and event spaces, including the restaurant and bar, which will soon open seven days a week. Boasting panoramic views across Sefton Park’s iconic boating lake, the venue provides an idyllic backdrop for weddings, celebrations, and weekend escapes.

Just ten minutes from Liverpool city centre, the restored villa spans three floors and offers 16 ensuite rooms plus a self-contained garden coach house accommodating up to six guests. The lower ground floor houses a newly refurbished event suite with a draped marquee, hosting up to 120 seated guests or 200 for receptions.
The intimate 30-cover restaurant has become renowned for serving one of Liverpool’s best Sunday roasts, with an elegant à la carte menu launching at the end of January. A welcoming bar with picturesque park views and an expansive outdoor terrace further enhance the venue’s charm and character.
Adding to its allure, The Sefton Park Hotel holds a unique place in Liverpool’s musical history. Once the family home of Stuart Sutcliffe, the original bassist of The Beatles, from 1940 to 1962, the hotel proudly showcases a curated collection of photographs and memorabilia celebrating Sutcliffe’s life and creative legacy.
Today, The Sefton Park Hotel stands as one of Liverpool’s most individual and characterful destinations, a perfect harmony of heritage, luxury, and local charm.
