Nugent, Liverpool City Region’s leading social care charity, is calling on Liverpool residents to volunteer at this year’s Sleep Out.
The challenge, taking place on Thursday 10 April, is set to be the biggest yet with Nugent hoping to raise £20,000 for Our Future Now, a community service and wholly charitable arm of Nugent’s operations focused on alleviating inequalities through four key themes: Accommodation; Poverty Alleviation; Making Memories; and Employability.

Taking part in the challenge involves experiencing a fraction of the obstacles faced by those suffering from homelessness. Volunteers are asked to give up their bed and roof over their head for the evening and brave the elements for one night, sleeping outside at Aigburth’s Sudley House.
Calling on volunteers, Jo Henney, CEO of Nugent, said:
“By signing up and fundraising for Sleep Out 2025, volunteers will be helping Nugent in its mission to alleviate homelessness in Liverpool and the North West.
“The Liverpool community has come together so many times before to help support Nugent, and we’re grateful for that. We’re now calling on them again to experience an element of ‘homelessness’ for just one night and create real positive change for so many that have nowhere else to turn.”

Sleep Out 2025 is sponsored by Krol Corlett Construction (KCC) for the fourth consecutive year.
Since partnering with Nugent, KCC has played a vital role in making Sleep Out a success and raising the funds required for the charity to provide life-changing opportunities for vulnerable individuals.
Outlining reasons for supporting Sleep Out, Simon Krol, Director at Krol Corlett Construction, said:
“As a company deeply rooted in Liverpool, we are proud to stand by organisations like Nugent in their mission to tackle homelessness and provide life-changing support.
“The success of the Sleep Out highlights the profound impact businesses and charities can achieve together when working toward a common goal.”
Last year, 40 people from the Liverpool community came together to tackle homelessness in the region, raising over £15,000.
Sleep Out 2025 is the latest fundraiser event launched by the charity following the success of the Nugent Gala, raising close to £100,000 in November 2024.
