Sefton Park Hotel, the historic Victorian villa overlooking Liverpool’s iconic boating lake, is entering its most ambitious chapter to date.
The boutique hidden gem has announced a double milestone with the appointment of hospitality expert Megan Hanson as Hotel Manager and the final phase of a £250,000 transformation.
Megan Hanson joins the team with over 15 years of high-end experience, most recently serving at the prestigious Knowsley Hall Estate.
A trained sommelier with a passion for exceptional guest experiences, Megan’s arrival signals a renewed focus on service excellence and a vibrant evolution of the hotel’s food and beverage offering.
New Leadership and a Vision for Excellence in Liverpool Hospitality
The appointment of Megan Hanson comes as the hotel nears completion of an extensive £250,000 refurbishment programme, set to conclude in Spring 2026.
Designed to sympathetically enhance the building’s historic character, the transformation introduces a ‘modern vintage’ aesthetic, blending contemporary elegance with original Victorian features.

Megan Hanson said:
“I am thrilled to be joining Sefton Park Hotel at such a pivotal moment.
“This is a truly special property with incredible heritage and a stunning location.
“I’m excited to build on its strong reputation, elevate the guest experience, and introduce fresh energy across the hotel and its dining spaces.”
£250k Victorian Refurbishment and the Launch of Sefton Park Bistro
Many of the ensuite bedrooms have already been completed, featuring Victorian-style sanitaryware, marble tiles, brass fittings, and wood panelling.
Carefully curated lighting and elegant décor create a refined yet welcoming atmosphere across the property.
The refurbishment also includes significant upgrades to the hotel’s public areas and event spaces, including the restaurant and bar, which will soon operate seven days a week.
On the lower ground floor, a newly refurbished event suite with a draped marquee provides capacity for up to 120 seated guests or 200 for receptions, making the hotel an ideal destination for weddings and private events.
Further enhancing its offering, the hotel is preparing to launch the Sefton Park Bistro in Spring 2026.
This stylish new eatery will serve a curated menu of home-made, gastropub-style dishes and mark the return of one of Liverpool’s finest Sunday roasts, reimagined for a new era.
Located just ten minutes from Liverpool city centre, the three-storey villa also features a self-contained garden coach house accommodating up to six guests.
With strong leadership and substantial investment, Sefton Park Hotel is poised to build on its heritage while confidently stepping into its most dynamic year yet.
