Liverpool is renowned for a plethora of things, and one of those is the unique fashion that is all around the city. Now there is a new sportswear brand, Velozia, on the block that will be sure to do more than just catch your eye.
Velozia launched in April 2025, and now the new sportswear brand that was ready to take the fashion industry by storm is certainly causing a stir right now.
Carl Giles and Joe Conchie came together and used their experience as PE teachers at Archbishop Beck High School to make the new brand.
Speaking to Explore Liverpool, Carl said: “Velozia began with a shared belief that movement shapes who we become. Training consistently builds discipline, confidence and clarity. We felt there was space for a brand that reflected that mindset. Not just sportswear, but products for people who approach life with intention and consistency.”

Velozia has been made with a key focus on being unique and standing out from the rest as they make a name for themselves in the sportswear industry.
Carl added: “We focus on substance. Performance is fundamental, but so is design, fit and feel. We work directly with fabric mills to create our own unique materials such as Velo-Dri and VeloFlx.
“Our products are created to perform under pressure while remaining understated and refined. We are building steadily, through community, relationships and quality, rather than relying on short-term visibility.”
Impact on the people of Liverpool
Having taught and nurtured the youngsters in this city, including Joe himself, Carl is insistent on having an even bigger impact on the city with this new brand.
“Liverpool has a strong sense of identity and resilience. We want Velozia to reflect that character. If we can help create spaces where people train together, support each other and build confidence through movement, then we are contributing something meaningful to the city and creating an approach that also speaks nationally and internationally,” said Carl.
Velozia have had a whirlwind few months as they were the main sponsor for the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament and the British Fitness Awards.

Speaking about the achievement, Carl said: “It was a significant moment for us. To support respected national events while representing Liverpool felt important. It signalled that a young, independent brand can earn credibility through focus and consistency.
“The feedback was incredible, and the fact that we had elite performers trying our clothing and wanting to become involved with the brand after one interaction was the professional proof we needed to push on.”
BoohooMan partnership and new products
When asked about the future vision for Velozia, Carl didn’t hold back, as he said: “Our ambition is to be recognised for quality, integrity and a strong community culture.
“So there is no surprise that Velozia have officially partnered up with Boohoo men in what is a massive moment for the relatively young sportswear brand.”
Speaking about the new partnership, Carl expressed delight: “It was totally unexpected, they spotted us through our running and Hyrox community and social media presence.
“We received an email from boohooMan three weeks ago saying they want to work with up-and-coming brands and would we be interested in a meeting.
“After the initial conversation, it was an easy decision for Velozia to partner with boohooMAN.
“It’s surreal, literally happened within the space of 3 weeks, from the initial email, meeting and completing the onboarding to the marketplace platform.”
With the new announcement comes new products set to launch soon, adding to the already fantastic collection of clothes on offer.
Carl explained: “Yes, we are really excited about the new products arriving at the end of the month. We always listen to our community and athletes to help direct what comes next product-wise. We’ll introduce new colourways in our Core and Performance products. Plus, an Evolve capsule collection which includes our first premium Tracksuit and Twinset.”
As Velozia continues to grow and expand into new products and cities all around the world, what is for certain is that the beating heart will continue to be two scousers who had a vision and made it work.
