Queens, Liverpool’s hidden gem in the city centre, has launched its summer menu, which includes breakfast, lunch, a la carte, and a great value set menu.
They have carefully created a refined menu with seasonal specialties, ranging from Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale to Steak Frites and Pork Belly to Stone Bass and Plaice.
The charming wine bar and bistro is the ideal spot to escape the city’s hustle and bustle, whether you choose to dine in the cosy restaurant or al fresco on the bohemian Queen Avenue. Queens is a real hidden gem in every sense of the word, and it is a favourite among those who are aware of its existence. It is situated just off Castle Street on an avenue that many are unaware of.
On the Breakfast menu you’ll find, Eggs Benedict; Eggs Royale; Small, Vegan and Queens breakfasts; French Toast; Bacon or Sausage on Toast; Bavette Steak with Fried Egg and Parmentier Potatoes. Meanwhile, the new set menu (available Mon-Fri from 12-2.30pm and 4-5.30pm) is great value at £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 courses.
The new set menu features starter choices of Soup du jour; Brandade and Sourdough; Ham Hock Fritter and Smoked Gribiche. Mains include Cauliflower Cheese, Pappardelle and Macadamia; Grilled Mackerel, Horseradish, Fennel and Ponzo; Grilled Chicken Salad; Bavette Steak, Frites and Chimichurri. Gorgeous desserts include Chocolate Delice, Cherry Sorbet; Selection Of Sorbets; Isle Of Mull Cheddar and Crackers.
Meanwhile, the new a la carte menu features starters such as Blacksticks Blue and Sage Croquettes with Red Wine Pear and their popular Ham Hock Terrine, Pickled Apple and Lambs Lettuce. Mains include dishes such as Stone Bass, Courgette, Tomato and Lemongrass Beurre Blanc and their mouthwatering Pork Belly, Miso Spring Vegetables and Guanciale.
Perfectly accompanied by their fine wine, courtesy of neighbouring specialist wine shop R & H Fine Wines, dining at Queens is a culinary experience. Despite being in the heart of Liverpool city centre, Queens and Queen Avenue exude a somewhat Parisian charm and romance, giving the impression of being on a secluded French backstreet.
Recently celebrating its 5th birthday and featured by Hardens and The Good Food Guide, Queens has emerged as one of our favourite city centre hangouts. Whether it’s breakfast, a working lunch, a romantic date, or a casual dinner with friends, Queens will capture your senses and imagination.
You can book a table by calling 0151 345 6646 or visiting their website. You can also check out the new menu here.
