Riva Blu, the much-loved Italian restaurant has swung open its doors after entering a new era, unveiling a full restaurant refurbishment and a transformed outdoor terrace – the best kept Italian secret situated on Castle Street in the heart of Liverpool.
Guests will step into an elevated dining experience, with interiors reimagined to reflect the chic glamour and effortless style of Southern Italy. The newly redesigned restaurant and bar areas immerse diners in plush surroundings, echoing the spirit of Naples where the party never stops.

The interior refresh includes a reconfiguration of the layout, relocating the deli to the Dispense bar to create more space for guests to soak up the atmosphere, including the vibrant Italian party soundtrack that Riva Blu is known for.
The refresh doesn’t stop at the interiors. A menu refresh, launched this week, reveals some of the staff’s best kept secret dishes passed down from Nonnas to our chefs. With emphasis on Southern Coastal ingredients exuding traditional Italian summer flavours, the secret is officially out with our new menu.
A much-loved destination for an aperitif, the alfresco terrace has also been transformed, introducing a larger capacity, perfect to host those looking to enjoy the summer sunshine and a beverage in the heart of the city. Emphasising the restaurant’s Italian charm and comfort, guests can dine, sip and savour the taste of Naples in Liverpool, surrounded by the city’s unique charm and delight.

Inside the restaurant, the walls showcase the impressive array of Italian bottles and express the colourful variety available at Riva Blu. Adding character with brighter touches lightening the ambiance, the décor provides guests with big Italian energy, complete with an open kitchen that invites guests to indulge in the extensive menu – from classic street food to traditional pizza and pasta.
Commenting on the recent renovation, Andrew Garton, CEO of Individual Restaurants, said:
“We’re incredibly excited to introduce the newly refurbished Riva Blu restaurant to the Liverpool community. It’s time to bring a fresh Southern Italian feel to the city, and we’ve taken inspiration from Naples in every aspect of the design, from inside the restaurant through to the alfresco terrace. The party is always at Riva Blu, and we can’t wait for our guests to experience the best kept Italian secret in Liverpool’s city centre.”
Riva Blu is open on Castle Street, where guests can enjoy the latest summer menu, including salads and spritz for £20 as the perfect summer pairing.
