Liverpool’s fearless and fabulous drag cabaret, EAT ME to kickstart Homotopia Festival

  • October 26, 2020
  • Editor

Liverpool’s fearless and fabulous drag cabaret EAT ME stages a spectacular, via livestream from the city’s District on Friday 30 October.

It marks the first day of Homotopia, the UK’s longest running LGBTQIA arts and culture festival, which runs from 29th October to 15th November.

Showcasing multidisciplinary performance from artists and creatives, EAT ME is a collective of queer performers and producers creating one of the most eye-catching, distinctive, playfully provocative regular nights in the city.

Founded by Brendan Curtis, him/herself a drag artist (Auntie Climax/Penny Lane) and producer, Liverpool’s original Queer Drag Dinner Cabaret Disco emerged in March 2017. Born of the desire to create a radical and diverse queer community for performers and participants alike, EAT ME boasts an alumni of dozens of talented acts including CHRISTEENE, Day Mattar, Ginny Lemon, HP Loveshaft, Kalypso Bang, Kevin Le Grand, Lasana Shabazz, Legs & Coq, Le Gateaux Chocolat, Liv Fontaine, Midgitte Bardot, Pretentious Dross and SHREK 666.

Spinning the disco portion of the evening into a frenzy, Preach! Club has featured DJs such as Jeffrey Hinton, Tracey Wilder, CASSINE, Cartier 4 Everyone, Faux Queens, Marilyn Misandry, WAJ HUSSEIN and The Nightbus.

EAT ME’s invitation to The Limited Edition reads…

“Have you been knocked back by the bouncers at Berghain, Studio 54, Area 51 & Club 27?! Well never you mind, dear because we’re welcoming you to the most inclusive, EXCLUSIVE club in town and ONLINE!

Whether you’re a big goth, a himbo, an adult baby or a gogo girl – we’ve got space for everyone!

It’s the party of the century, darling – everybody’s going to be there…

With a glittering GALAXY of stars featuring head turning headliner:

KALYPSO BANG!

As well as ROMEO DE LA CRUZ! JADA LOVE! AND FUTURE MR GAY UK… CHIYO GOMES!

All hosted by the pendulous PENNY LANE.

Time to suck on a Rennie, henny and get tickets YESTERDAY for Liverpool’s OG Queer Drag Dinner Cabaret!”
