Liverpool’s Deejay David Soul to host Halloween event to raise vital funds for the city’s homeless

This Halloween Liverpool music name Deejay David Soul, who built a sterling reputation especially during the nineties, is hosting a unique event in Seel Street, which is headlined as his Old Skool Festival.

This talented and experienced DJ has already proved a hit with his retro Soul Train residency in Seel Street, and is now taking it larger, and outside, so he can welcome more guests in the road’s Car Park area, which will be accommodated by a full-size, heated marquee, to suit partygoers whatever the weather.

The theme of the event is to bring Over-25 club lovers a taste of all of the legendary nightclubs which made the city centre the place to be during the 1980’s and 1990’s, including Club Continental, The State, Kirklands, Cagney’s, The Buzz, Quinns and many more. There has already been a hugely warm reception for the vibe provided by Deejay David Soul, and his host of guest DJs, who pack out Soul Train every weekend.

David explains:

‘The 80’s and 90’s were such busy times for clubbers in the city, not just locally, but for people coming from all over the UK, and around the globe, to have a brilliant night out here.

Obviously, the city now caters brilliantly for younger club-goers, but I didn’t want people from our over-25 gang to feel left behind: I can honestly tell you from my experiences at Soul Train, they still love to party! And the scope of venues we reference, from the Coconut Grove to the Paradox, covers a whole range of dance genres, so there is something for everyone who had a good time back in the day.

We are also excited to welcome 2 Funky 2 to the stage at the event, to play their huge hit ‘Brothers and Sisters’ which is still a legendary and much-loved club anthem, and always gets the crowd going. As we have a festival feel this time, it means we can begin in the afternoon, and go right on until late.

I am also really proud that we will be fundraising at this special event to raise vital funds for Liverpool’s leading homeless charities. This is a city with a huge, generous heart and I know at this time of the year in particular, we all want to do more to help anyone who is in need of assistance, whether it be immediate support and also long-term care.

I really look forward to seeing everyone who enjoys Soul Train on Halloween, and also new faces throughout the day and evening. Of course, we want to transport you back to your clubbing glory days, but we also want to do so in a 2021 location, bringing together so many noted DJs, names and themes, making sure that Old Skool Festival goes off in style.’

Anyone who wants to join in is encouraged to dress to impress: it is definitely an opportunity to rock a Halloween look with some back-in-time details. Admission to the event is free and starts at 1pm, going on until late. No tickets are required, but stylish, shoulder-padded, raving ghouls are definitely welcome.
