Liverpool Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice is making waves with its first-ever Dragon Boat Race this Saturday, 13th September, a thrilling day on the water packed with racing, live entertainment, and family fun, all to raise vital funds for the hospice.
Taking place at the Liverpool Watersports Centre, Queens Dock, the action kicks off with 15 Dragon Boat teams representing businesses and organisations from across the city, including Home Bargains, Paramount Digital, Have a Word, and even a team of Zoe’s Place staff and families. Competitors will be making a splash in more ways than one, with fancy dress costumes and creative headwear adding to the spectacle. Prizes will also be awarded for the best outfits.

Every penny raised on the day will go directly to Liverpool Zoe’s Place, supporting babies and young children with life-limiting and complex conditions. The hospice is preparing for an exciting new chapter as it transitions to the name Little Lights Baby Hospice, alongside the development of a brand-new, purpose-built facility.
Matt Meany, Head of Fundraising for Liverpool Zoe’s Place, said;
“We would love to see lots of our supporters down at the Dragon Boat race, it’s set to be a spectacular day of fun, racing and community spirit and everyone is invited to come along, cheer and help us just have a memorable, fun day!”
Spectators are warmly encouraged to come along, cheer on the teams, and enjoy a fantastic day out. Entertainment will include live performances from the legendary Johnny Bongo and friends, alongside fun games, food and drink stalls, and activities for all the family.
