Liverpool’s city centre was swarmed by a high-octane sea of runners this past Sunday, bringing the streets to a standstill in a massive, coordinated show of force.
From the neon-lit storefronts of Liverpool ONE to the edge of the Baltic Triangle, the city was caught in the middle of an intense, high-energy movement that looked less like a casual Sunday morning and more like a full-scale takeover.
Organised by hometown sportswear titan Montirex, the event, dubbed MTX RUN CITY LIVERPOOL, wasn’t just a product launch, it was a statement.
The brand brought together over 200 of the city’s toughest athletes, combat specialists from the Liverpool Combat Academy and Salisbury SBC, and local run clubs for a surprise assault on the pavement that proved exactly why the North-West giant is dominating the sportswear scene.
Chaos, Music, and a Baltic Finish Line

This wasn’t just about getting a few kilometres in, it was a festival of grit and local culture.
The swarm snaked through the city’s heart, offering participants a choice of 2.5K, 5K, and 7K routes.
The energy reached a fever pitch as the group converged on Half~space in the Baltic Triangle.
With Still Ryan on the mic and a blistering live DJ set from Callum Llewellyn, presented by the local powerhouse SVARA Radio, the finish line felt more like an underground warehouse rave than a sportswear activation.
To fuel the fire, Montirex treated the first 100 finishers to complimentary food and drink courtesy of Moll and Joel’s Rolls, while exclusive prizes and gear were distributed to the crowd, cementing the brand’s reputation for knowing exactly how to treat its home crowd.
A Brand That Stays Grounded

While Montirex is rapidly scaling its global operations, Sunday’s event was a loud reminder that their DNA remains firmly rooted in the city that built them.
The takeover was teased all weekend by massive, high-impact light projections that flashed across iconic city buildings, leaving locals guessing until the last minute.
By integrating local talent and the city’s most intense fitness communities into the heart of the campaign, Montirex has successfully positioned itself as a performance label that refuses to lose its street-level credibility.
It was a day of sweat, sound, and serious style that put the new MTX RUN CITY range directly onto the streets.
Whether you were running with them or just caught the aftermath on your feed, the message was clear, Montirex is just getting started, and they’re taking their hometown along for the ride.
