Liverpool skin specialist Ashley Wady, best known for her decades worth of experience and creating the popular skincare brand BOSSFACE, has created FUNNYSKIN; four clean and easy-to-use products for children.
Diversifying to offer skincare that’s formulated in an award-winning, UK-based laboratory to a broader audience, FUNNYSKIN includes four simple steps to create healthy habits for growing skin.

Perfect for ages eight through to 16, and ideal for all skin types, tones and genders, Ashley Wady has worked directly with paediatricians and dermatologists at specialised children’s hospitals to ensure all four products contain zero additives and are free from soap, hormones, alcohol, artificial colours, parabens and hypoallergenic preservatives, so that children and their young, delicate skin are protected.
FUNNYSKIN’s four must-have products include:
- FUNNY FOAM, (The cleanser) is important for removing make up or debris (yes kids now wear make up), they also work to rid any excess sebum production which can lead to breakouts in teenage skin. (£20)
- SUPER BOUNCE (The serum) is formulated with skin-friendly, inclusive ingredients designed to nourish, soothe, and protect even the most sensitive skin. Embracing the “PAB” Skin Care Philosophy and a Sandwich Formula, this serum ensures long-lasting hydration without irritation. (£25)
- WHIP & GLOSS (The daily moisturiser) is formulated with squalane and shea butter for deep moisture, trehalose to strengthen the skin barrier, and bisabolol to soothe irritation, it’s the perfect blend of nourishment and comfort for healthy, glowing skin. This product can be used to soothe irritated skin. (£25)
- The final step is the PROTECT & PLAY (SPF50) which offers over 12 hours of broad-spectrum sun protection, shielding delicate skin from UVA and UVB rays. Lightweight and non-greasy, it’s enriched with plant extracts like eucalyptus, white lotus flower, centella asiatica, and houttuynia cordata to nourish and care for sensitive skin. Gentle, mild, and perfect for everyday sun defense. (£27)
Ashley, from Allerton, is an advanced aesthetician with decades worth of experience, having worked for some of the biggest beauty brands across the globe including L’Oréal, pharmaceutical company GSK and Aestheticare, and during the pandemic, the mum-of-one used her time and knowledge to create her very own skincare line – BOSSFACE.

Since 2020, BOSSFACE has established a trusted reputation and garnered a loyal network of over 350 high trusted clinic partners who believe in BOSSFACE and generate fantastic results for clients.
But having always wanted to diversify and offer a range for young, growing skin, Ashley felt that now was the time, particularly as children now have access to social media and misinformation.
She explained:
“I’ve always wanted to create skincare for kids as I believe in creating health habits from a young age but more recently, I’ve been consistently seeing misinformation being shared across social media platforms. Alongside this, we’ve had more and more parents coming into our clinic to ask what their children can use on their skin and I’ve seen my nine year old niece shopping for skincare and coming away with products that are totally unsafe and unsuitable for her, often resulting in spots and redness on the skin.
“Overuse of products leads to all sorts of problems including skin sensitivity, damaged skin barriers, and long term skin conditions such as acne, rosacea and dermatitis. Safe and hypoallergenic ingredients are not just important but necessary to maintain delicate skin barrier health.
“FUNNYSKIN has been formulated alongside dermatologists and paediatricians with only natural ingredients to ensure we protect young skin, but also give children the chance to create healthy habits and use skincare, especially as this is becoming more and more popular today.
“Please don’t follow trends, especially from TikTok. For advice on products, always seek help from a trusted clinic or professional, influencers are not skin specialists and this is really important to remember.”
With children’s skin being naturally plump, smooth, and resilient, it doesn’t need “anti-aging” or harsh actives. Ashley’s advice is to stick to simple, gentle skincare to support their skin health without causing irritation or long-term issues.
Children should avoid using anything that includes ingredients including AHA/BHA/Retinol, Vitamin C, Alcohol and fragrances. Children’s skin barriers are very much still developing meaning their skin is thinner, more delicate and more permeable than adult skin.
Harsh or active can penetrate more deeply and easily cause irritation, redness, or even allergic reactions.
SPF is also a huge focus for Ashley, and educating children and their families on the importance of protecting young skin.
Ashley continued:
“In countries such as Australia, kids are educated on sunscreen and I wanted to bring that to the UK. Even though we don’t have the same climate, it’s still very important to create that healthy habit, helping them understand that it’s just as essential as brushing your teeth.
“Children’s skin is thinner and more sensitive than adults’, making it more vulnerable to UV damage and we all know that serious sunburns can increase the risk of skin cancer. Reducing sun exposure before the age of 18 dramatically reduces the risk of skin cancers like melanoma.”
