LFC Foundation has been crowned Community Club of the Season – Premier League at the prestigious 2025 Spencer Chadderton Northwest Football Awards, held in Manchester on Monday evening.
The Club’s official charity triumphed over fellow Premier League Foundations to take home the accolade, which celebrates the incredible impact football continues to have on communities across the Northwest, both on and off the pitch.
Over the past year, LFC Foundation has supported more than 145,000 people through its health, learning and employability programmes, generating an £80.3 million social value for the Liverpool City Region and an impressive £364.79 million over the past five years.
This success has only been possible thanks to the ongoing support of partners including the Steve Morgan Foundation, Premier League Charitable Fund, and the PFA, among others.
Expanding its reach beyond the UK, LFC Foundation has also delivered life-changing programmes in Tanzania, Ethiopia, the United States, the Republic of Ireland, and soon, Japan, supporting more than 19,000 people internationally in partnership with organisations such as Right to Play and the Nippon Foundation.
Closer to home, the Foundation has worked in 206 schools, delivered 341 hours of employment training every month, and engaged over 15,500 participants in sessions designed to improve both physical and mental wellbeing.
In addition, 1,000 meals have been distributed from Anfield to local families each week, while the Foundation’s health-focused initiatives have contributed to an estimated £170 million in healthcare savings over the past five years.
This award recognises the Foundation’s continued commitment to creating life-changing opportunities and positive outcomes for people of all ages, both within the Liverpool City Region and around the world.
Matt Parish, Chief Executive a LFC Foundation, said:
“It is a great honour to be named the Community Club of the Season, and I am delighted for our 100-strong team on the ground who have made this possible. Without their hard work, dedication, and commitment we would not be able to make the positive difference in our communities both home and away.
“I’d also like to extend our thanks to all our partners who help us tackle social inequality. We have an ambitious, but achievable target of working with 500,000 participants by 2030 through health, learning and employability programmes and their continued support will help us on that mission.”
