Huyton is set to shine brighter than ever for Christmas Light Switch-On

Huyton is set to shine brighter than ever as the community gathers for the much-anticipated Christmas Light Switch-On for 2024.

Taking place on Thursday 21st November, the event promises an unforgettable evening filled with festive cheer, exciting performances, and family-friendly attractions.

Organised by Oneday, this year’s event is a true community effort, brought to life through close collaboration with local businesses and the community. Together, we’re delivering a magical night that showcases the best of Huyton.

A Night of Festive Fun and Entertainment

The event will feature an array of performances to get everyone into the Christmas spirit:

  • Paul Tomlinson will host the evening, keeping the energy high with music and holiday cheer.
  • Urban Queenz and Frontline Community Choir will bring the rhythm and soul..
  • The stage will also welcome performances by R&T School of Dance and the Change Grow Live Choir, showcasing local talent.
  • A dazzling highlight will be the special act from Pyromancy Productions, featuring a float and stunning visual display.

Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Santa Claus himself, joined by beloved Frozen characters Elsa and Anna, brought to life by Demi Leigh Wilson & Team. And don’t miss a chance to meet the adorable Santa Stitch from Big Softies!

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a beautiful carousel will be set up, offering fun for the whole family.

A Christmas-themed Trail

Throughout the evening, visitors will be able to embark on a Christmas-themed trail, “Find the Elves,” encouraging exploration of Huyton’s local businesses. Participants will ‘help Santa save Christmas’ by locating hidden elves throughout the village.

• Participants can pick up a trail leaflet at Huyton Village Green.

• Mark off each elf as you find them in shops and restaurants.

• Submit your completed sheet for a chance to win a festive prize in our raffle.

Bringing Community Together

This year’s Christmas Light Switch-On is more than just a celebration, it’s about bringing the Huyton community together to share in the holiday spirit. With entertainment, attractions, and opportunities to support local businesses, the event is a festive highlight you won’t want to miss.

Chloe Clarke, Concept Director at Oneday, said:

“The Christmas Light Switch-On is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything that makes Huyton special. This event reflects the power of collaboration, with local businesses and organisations coming together to create something truly magical for the community. We’re proud to play a part in making this happen.”
