Spreading some festive cheer, Ropes & Twines unveils gingerbread model of Bold Street and Liverpool’s Cathedrals for Christmas!
The Bold Street-based speciality coffee shop and wine bar has unveiled its amazing Christmas window display made up of an impressive, edible version of Liverpool’s famous street where the venue itself is located.
Baking the festive gingerbread in-house, owner Tian and chocolatier Remy painstakingly hand iced, carved and built the display which is sure to attract many passers-by.
Spanning across Ropes & Twines’ entire window, the giant gingerbread masterpiece includes the coffee shop and wine bar itself, plus Matta’s, Utility, Rennies Gallery, St George’s Hall and both of Liverpool’s magnificent Cathedrals; the Anglican and the Metropolitan Cathedral.
Taking almost three weeks to make, the team at Ropes & Twines dedicated their time during lockdown to creating the model that is complete with exquisite detail including window panes, brickwork, steps, pillars, snow, mini gingerbread men, the cathedral’s clock and of course, a Christmas tree.
Remy Kuijken, Ropes & Twines’ chocolatier, said: “We’re very excited for the Christmas period and to be able to reopen our doors after lockdown next week. The tier system obviously hasn’t been released just yet but we’re hopeful that we can welcome our guests back at Ropes for our speciality coffee and wines from all over the world!
“The gingerbread display is a homage to Liverpool – after this year we appreciate our city more than ever and in particular, our famous Bold Street. Myself and Tian created everything from scratch, in house, and spent hours decorating and building the project. We hope everyone loves it as much as we do!”
Ropes & Twines is currently selling Christmas hampers that are perfect for coffee, tea, wine and chocolate lovers. All hampers can be ordered online via https://ropesdelivery.com or in store when Ropes & Twines reopens next Wednesday 3rd December.
