The exciting new concept will feature different menus on 3-month residencies. After a successful trial period on a takeaway only basis throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, The Dark Kitchen & Bar will open its doors to the public on the 17th June from 5pm. The first menu will be ‘Sushi x Bae’ which will feature ‘Hello Sushi’ – a new imagining of some iconic Japanese dishes alongside a full hand-rolled sushi menu as well as the popular vegan ‘Bae’ burgers.

‘Hello Sushi’ will feature fresh poke bowls, lobster & crayfish rolls as well as a full sushi menu, made up of fresh fish, meat options as well as some amazing vegan alternatives, including a watermelon ‘sashimi’. After a full kitchen refurb, a tailor-made sushi bar has been installed to allow for authentic, fresh sushi to be made in house daily. It will be the first foray into sushi for the business, with particular attention being paid to the rice, which will be cooked and seasoned every 2 hours to make it as authentic as possible.

‘Bae Burgers’ have been on the takeaway menu since mid-2020 and remain one of the most popular menu offerings. From the classic to the ‘Bae-yoncé’, the team are so confident in the brilliance of the vegan burgers, they’ve chosen not to offer a meat alternative. They hope to show that no compromise has to be made when it comes to taste and flavour when using a meat alternative, with these burgers already being a success with vegans and meat-eaters alike.

The Dark Kitchen & Bars’ new menu will also highlight their commitment to bringing fresh, sustainable produce to the city through their partnership with local business Greens for Good. Greens for Good are based in the Baltic Triangle and use hydroponic technology to grow a variety of greens for local businesses and homes alike. Their weekly boxes provide the kitchen with greens, herbs & edible flowers.

The drinks menu will also have a ‘Sushi x Bae’ spin, then change alongside the food rotation. Cocktails have been curated to specifically compliment the flavours of the food menu whilst also incorporating light, summer notes. The cocktail menu is completed with a drink in collaboration with Liverpool business ‘Zest’. ‘Zest’ is owned by two previous employees of the company, who’ve now ventured into the independent spirit business, creating artisanal, handcrafted limoncello. A select wine and beer offering complete the menu.

The Dark Kitchen & Bar are excited to bring this new concept to the bustling Allerton Road area and to welcome guests back for the first time in 2021.
