Everton F.C. has confirmed that Hill Dickinson Stadium will host England women’s FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 qualifying group fixture against Ukraine on Tuesday, 9 June 2026, with an 8 pm kick-off.
The Lionesses will become the first England side to play at Everton’s new waterfront home since it opened last summer, marking another milestone in the stadium’s growing international profile.
Lionesses set for landmark night at Everton’s new stadium
The match will be only the second senior international football fixture staged at the 52,769-capacity venue.
It follows confirmation that Scotland’s men’s national football team will face the Côte d’Ivoire national football team there in a FIFA World Cup warm-up fixture in March.
England Head Coach Sarina Wiegman said:
“It is very exciting for us to be playing for the first time at Everton’s new stadium.
“We have always said that taking this team around the country is so important, and we’re really looking forward to playing in front of fans in the north west.
“The city of Liverpool has a rich football history with many connections to the Lionesses over the years, so it will be a very special evening.
“Every game matters, and this match will be the last in our qualification campaign.
“As always, we will give our very best to play at our highest level and put ourselves in the best possible place to finish the group strongly.”
Key qualifier as race to Brazil 2027 intensifies
Hill Dickinson Stadium has already strengthened its reputation as a major sporting venue.
It has hosted Rugby League’s Ashes clash between Great Britain and Australia and will stage England v Fiji this summer as part of Fiji’s inaugural Nations Championship campaign.
Rugby League’s Magic Weekend will also take place at the ground.
The stadium is confirmed as a host venue for UEFA Euro 2028 and has been shortlisted as part of the UK bid for the 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The June fixture follows an April double header, which sees England face the Spain women’s national football team at Wembley Stadium on 14 April, before marking the Lionesses’ 500th fixture away to Iceland women’s national football team in Reykjavik on 18 April.
Spain, Iceland and Ukraine were drawn alongside England in League A Group 3 as qualification for Brazil 2027 gets underway.
