Elton John to play ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ Final Tour at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium in summer 2022.
Elton John has announced the final dates for his farewell tour, which includes stops at big stadiums around the world, including Anfield.
“Elton John Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour” will visit Liverpool at Anfield Stadium on Friday June 17, 2022, and will perform more shows throughout Europe, including Milan, Frankfurt and Paris.
Added dates also announced in North America, kicking off those shows on July 15, 2022, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. He will also perform at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey; Soldier Field in Chicago; Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta; Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.; American Airlines Center in Dallas; and Minute Maid Park in Houston. He will wrap the North American trek with two shows at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on November 19 and 20, 2022.
Elton, 74, said:
“Hello, all you wonderful fans out there. I’m coming to you today with an announcement I’ve been working towards for, well, all my life: the shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in North America and Europe.
“I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career … This has been an incredible tour so far, full of the most amazing highs, and I look forward to making more wonderful memories with you at these final shows.
“Whether it’s next summer in Frankfurt or at the legendary Dodger Stadium for the grand finale in the United States, I can’t wait to see you all on the road one last time. John will put on more than 300 shows across five continents and in 2023 he will play in New Zealand and Australia before wrapping up the tour, which began in 2018.
Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Wednesday June 30 on ticketmaster.
