New easyJet Winter Routes Launched Direct From Liverpool John Lennon Airport for Two Dream Christmas Destinations

  • June 19, 2026
  • By Editor - Elliot Thompson

Travel from Liverpool John Lennon Airport is getting a magical winter upgrade, making it easier than ever for local families and adventurers to head off on a dream holiday.

easyJet has today announced the launch of two brand new Winter routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, with flights to Reykjavik and Kittilä now officially on sale.

Flights to Reykjavik will start on 2nd November 2026 and operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, which is ideal for anyone looking to book a memorable long weekend away.

Meanwhile, flights to Kittilä in Lapland will begin on 25th November 2026 and operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, providing customers with even more choice of winter destinations direct from Liverpool.

The addition of Reykjavik, which serves as the ultimate gateway to Iceland’s dramatic landscapes, and Kittilä in Finnish Lapland, offers customers the perfect options for a winter escape, whether seeking natural wonders or magical festive experiences.

Reykjavik offers visitors the chance to explore breathtaking geysers, waterfalls, and volcanic landscapes, as well as relax in world-famous geothermal lagoons such as the Blue Lagoon.

The Icelandic capital is also renowned as one of the standout locations on the planet to witness the spectacular Northern Lights in person.

For those looking for a festive adventure, Kittilä is located right in the heart of Lapland and offers a true winter wonderland experience, from snow-covered forests and Northern Lights to husky sledging, snowmobiling, and skiing in nearby Levi.

The stunning destination is especially popular with families looking to experience the magic of the festive season and meet Father Christmas in his home territory.

Flexible Holiday Packages and Airport Growth

The tour operator arm of the airline is also offering comprehensive package holidays to both Reykjavik and Kittilä from Liverpool, including return flights and hotel accommodation, with a range of options available.

Paul Winfield, LJLA’s Aviation Director, commented:

“We are delighted to welcome more fantastic easyJet routes to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

“Reykjavik and Kittilä are exciting additions, offering strong appeal for winter travel and festive getaways.

“easyJet’s continued growth here at the North West’s faster, easier, friendlier Airport demonstrates the strength of the Liverpool market, and we anticipate these new services will be very popular with travellers across the region.”

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said:

“We’re excited to be adding these winter destinations to our growing network from Liverpool.

“Customers now have the opportunity to explore Iceland and Lapland, and we look forward to welcoming them on board these new routes.

“Our short-haul network from Liverpool offers unrivalled choice for those planning their holidays, making it easy to book and fly.”

More Planes and Destinations for Merseyside Travellers

With these latest additions, easyJet’s network from Liverpool now offers 41 routes stretching across 18 countries, providing customers with more choice and excellent value.

Over the past 12 months, easyJet has continued to expand its Liverpool network, adding a number of new destinations and increasing fleet capacity at the airport.

This summer, the airline will base an additional aircraft in Liverpool, bringing their total to nine based planes, enabling even more choice and flexibility for customers booking flights and package holidays across Europe and North Africa.

The expansion cements the airline’s commitment to connecting Liverpool to major cities across Europe as well as a range of popular leisure destinations, offering affordable fares and a convenient schedule for both leisure and business travellers.
