The boundaries of the traditional fashion map are being redrawn this February as acclaimed designer Melissa-Kate returns to her hometown for her debut solo showcase.
On 19 February, the Birkenhead-based creative hub Future Yard will host the unveiling of her Spring/Summer 2026 collection, a provocative and celebratory body of work titled ‘London, Paris, New York, Birkenhead.’
After successfully showcasing across three seasons of London Fashion Week, Melissa-Kate’s return to Merseyside represents a cultural homecoming.
The event serves as a high-octane manifesto for regional creative power, built in collaboration with an expansive network of local performers and industry professionals.
By choosing Future Yard, a cornerstone of Birkenhead’s independent creative scene, the designer is championing a decentralised future for British fashion
Defining Hun Couture: Where Hollywood Glamour Meets Scouse Style
The collection itself invites guests into the unapologetic world of “Hun Couture.”
Meliisa-Kate said:
“The collection is what I call Hun Couture, it throws together 50s Hollywood glamour with 00s Scouse WAG.
“The collection is a fusion of one-off designs created from scraps and deadstock fabrics, alongside ready-to-wear pieces made using zero-waste patterns.
“I intend to sell the ready-to-wear pieces via my website on a made-to-order, limited-stock basis, with occasional limited drops of one-off pieces.”
This unique design language celebrates hyper femininity and humour, offering a fresh perspective on regional identity through the lens of luxury fashion.
Sustainable Fashion Futures and Zero Waste Innovation

Beyond its aesthetic confidence, ‘London, Paris, New York, Birkenhead’ is rooted in a rigorous commitment to ethical design.
The SS26 collection blends nostalgic glamour with local cultural references while embedding sustainability through the use of deadstock materials and zero-waste pattern cutting.
To further combat waste, the ready-to-wear pieces will be sold via the designer’s website on a made-to-order, limited stock basis. This commitment to a limited production model ensures that the brand remains rooted in intentionality.
