In our latest edition of highlighting the people of Liverpool, we are focusing on the content creators of Merseyside.
No matter what you post or what following you have, we at Explore Liverpool are sharing the stories of the many content creators around Merseyside.
In our most recent edition, we spoke to Charleigh-Paige Tartt from Liverpool, who posts on TikTok.
What content do you post, and when did you start?
I create content that reflects my bubbly, outgoing and emotional personality.
My platform is a mix of food and drink reviews, daily vlogs, fitness content and product unboxings.
I started posting during lockdown as a way to pass the time, but it quickly became something much bigger.
What inspired you to start content creation?
Growing up, I struggled with maintaining friendships in school due to ADHD, so social media became a space where I could connect with people like me and build a community.
In a way, I’ve always been drawn to being in front of a camera, from filming videos on my mum’s old Blackberry to getting told off in school for recording on laptops.
It felt natural to turn that into something meaningful.
How did your first-ever video go, and how did you feel?
My first video felt very natural.
I remember setting my phone up and talking honestly about being stuck indoors during lockdown and feeling like I was losing my mind, and asking if anyone else felt the same.
From that moment, things started to grow.
I gained followers, interactions and even friendships that have lasted.
It was daunting at first, knowing anyone could see and judge my content, and sometimes they did, but over time I developed a thick skin and learned to embrace it.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to showcase themselves online?
Just do it.
Whether you live privately or share your life online, there will always be people judging you, you can’t escape that.
So you may as well live how you want and post what you want.
Don’t let other people’s opinions dilute who you are.
Be unapologetically yourself, and your content will naturally reflect that.
How has being from Liverpool shaped your content?
Being a Liverpool girl comes with so many highs.
Creators here are all completely different, but the one thing that always brings Scousers together is food, drinks and iconic fashion, which is exactly the kind of content that thrives.
I feel incredibly proud of my city, and I genuinely believe Scousers are destined for greatness.
What has been your favourite encounter while creating content?
One of my favourite moments was meeting Kerry Katona while filming content for Liverpool-based brand Supreme CBD.
I was at the warehouse filming when I bumped into her picking up products she swears by.
She was absolutely hilarious, we ended up chatting about her love for Scousers and caused a bit of chaos in the warehouse.
It was such a surreal but fun experience.
Your funniest moment?
Probably one I shouldn’t admit!
I was filming a restaurant review where we had a lot of cocktails before the food arrived.
By the time the food came, we were starving and completely demolished it, only to realise I hadn’t filmed a single second of it.
Luckily, the restaurant found it funny and let us order more, so I could actually capture the content.
It happens to the best of us after that many martinis!
What has been your biggest achievement so far?
My biggest achievement comes from within rather than any brand deal.
It’s the community I’ve built, a space filled with people who see life through a more positive lens.
I know I can post a completely raw, unedited video on my best or worst days and be met with support.
People message me for advice, support each other, and it’s become a genuine safe space.
Alongside that, I’ve built so much confidence and watched my social anxiety fade, and that means everything to me.
Your personal “pinch-me” moment?
I don’t think there’s just one.
Every day feels like a pinch-me moment. I wake up feeling grateful and slightly in disbelief that this is my life.
I’ve attended incredible events, met inspiring people and had opportunities I once only dreamed of, so it really is something I appreciate daily.
Why should people watch your content?
I want people to feel my genuine energy through the screen.
Everything I post is an authentic reflection of who I am.
If someone watches my content and feels even slightly better about themselves or their situation, that means everything.
I’m not focused on numbers, if 20% of people truly connect with what I do, that’s far more valuable than anything else.
And when it comes to food, I’m always honest, so if you want real recommendations in the city, I’ve got you.
What is your dream for the future?
I take life day by day because things can change so quickly, which motivates me to stay present.
But career-wise, I’d love to pursue content creation full-time while exploring other opportunities too.
Continuing to grow my platform and strengthen the community I’ve built is definitely the dream.
