Children from Claire House Children’s Hospice in Merseyside joined TV chef Nisha Katona for a trip out ahead of the Mowgli Dog Show.
In a lead-up to this year’s charity event, some of the children from the hospice were treated to a fun day on the farm.

The popular dog show – dubbed ‘Glastonbury for dogs’ – is held every year in aid of Claire House, which supports seriously ill babies, children and young adults.
Mowgli founder Nisha said:
“I’m very passionate about supporting my local children’s hospice, Claire House. Every single penny of profit from the Mowgli Dog Show goes to helping those children and families – and this event is dedicated to them.
“I’m a big dog lover. And dogs are a reason to get up out of bed, walk and feel needed for so many people.
“For my mum, David our whippet was her companion after my dad died. And she cherished his framed photo and Best in Show rosette, which he won the Aintree Dog Show, until her dying day.
“So that’s how the Mowgli Dog Show started and it’s now in its seventh year.
“Liverpool made Mowgli the first national Indian chain, the least we could do for the city and its people is to give back to Claire House.
“You don’t even need to bring a dog – the food is incredible and there’s entertainment and a fairground for the kids. It’s like Glastonbury but with dogs!”
This week’s outing to Claremont Farm in Wirral was organised as part of the preparations for the upcoming event. Organised by Mowgli Street Food, the show will take place on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8.
Day tickets are £10 each, available to buy on the Mowgli Trust website. Children under three go free with one paying ticket.
Lawren Harris, Play and Activities Team Leader at Claire House, took the children for a sunny day out with Nisha.
Children and staff had the opportunity to see tractors, meet friendly dogs and enjoy bone-shaped shortbread biscuits and ice creams, creating cherished memories.
Lawren said:
“Days like this bring the children so much joy and contributes to their overall well-being and happiness.
“With the dogs and Nisha, it was like a mini dog show!
“Many of the children and their families that we support look forward to attending the Mowgli Dog Show every year – it’s one of my favourite days!
“We’re so grateful to Nisha and Mowgli for organising such a fantastic event in aid of Claire House. A huge thank you to them for putting together such a fantastic event to support the children. Their help means the world to us!”
The dog show promises to be a celebration of community spirit and support for a great cause, helping the charity to provide essential care and services from Claire House’s Wirral hospice, West Derby site and at homes across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales.
