Rockpoint Records is celebrating its 5th birthday

Rockpoint Records, New Brighton’s cool music themed hangout is celebrating its 5th birthday with some exciting new additions!

The lively Victoria Road location, which was among the first independent businesses to spark the neighborhood’s regeneration, has expanded its menu to include wood-fired pizzas and a pool table.

Since its opening in 2019, Rockpoint Records, one of the main ventures of Rockpoint Leisure, which has transformed the area with street art and independent businesses, has become a popular destination for music lovers. It has made a name for itself as one of the trendiest bars in Wirral with its raw brick walls, vintage decor, killer playlist, live music, record store, tattoo shop, barbershop, cocktail lounge, and hidden courtyard.

Numerous notable local artists and exciting nights out have taken place at this iconic location, including the legendary gig by big hitters The Mysterines (two of whom have worked there). To commemorate five years of spearheading “The Victoria Quarter,” the location has added a pool table and wood-fired pizzas from Hella Dough to its lineup of attractions.

Locals have been raving about Hella Dough woodfired pizzas ever since they were introduced, thanks to their crispy base, soft dough, and customise your order feature. Along with the ongoing monthly Rock N Roll Bingo, Friday and Saturday live music, and Open Mic Thursdays, the upstairs vinyl record store has added a new pool table that has become a huge hit.

Manager Sue Birkett said:

“Whether you come in for a coffee in the daytime or for a few drinks and live entertainment in the evening, there’s always a good vibe at Rockpoint Records. We have something for everyone and it’s become a real community hub and meeting place for so many people. It’s a great place to hang out or sit outside the front or secret courtyard at the back.”

“The pizzas have been really popular and everyone loves a game of pool — there’s so much on offer here now. I don’t think many places can say they have front and back outdoor seating, a cocktail lounge, a piano, an upstairs pool room and record store, an in house tattoo artist, barbers, regular live entertainment and woodfired pizzas. It really is the place to be!”

New Brighton’s Victoria Road area is thriving ever since the Rockpoint Leisure regeneration project. Independent shops are thriving alongside the vibrant street art, and new establishments like Tallulah’s, The Good Hood, and Social 114 have increased the street’s appeal.

Rockpoint Leisure’s Founder Daniel Davies said:

“We’ve put everything into making this a great place to live and visit. Unlike other regeneration programmes around the country, this has been a ground up community led project focusing on a local eco system, visitor economy and opportunities for independent businesses to flourish — free from the bland brands that dominate most high streets in the UK.”

“On 24th March 2024 it will be 6 years since I opened a bank account in the name of Rockpoint Leisure and deposited the first £1million with the view of turning the fortunes around of this once great seaside town. To date we have spent the best part of £8 million but this wouldn’t have been possible without the breathtaking contribution of Wirral Borough Council totalling £3,000 and four new bins.”
