One of Liverpool’s most-loved hangouts Bobo has announced the next of its exciting new monthly wine club events this week.
Positioned in the heart of the city’s foodie quarter on Castle Street, despite its intimate size, rustic Bobo has quickly become one of the biggest names in eating and drinking over the past few months, and feels like it’s been part of the city centre’s fabric for decades.
Taking its cues from the Iberian Peninsula, it offers a diverse range of food and drink, inspired by Spanish and Portuguese culture and includes a dine-in menu as well as a retail counter where customers can pick up fresh Pastel de Nata.
Curiously calling itself a ‘Wine Cafe’ (a notable breakaway from the ubiquitous theme bars in this area of Liverpool), Bobo presents itself in the tradition of the best European cafes and prides itself on authenticity rather than pastiche.
Quickly carving out a name for itself in the wine world, it offers a phenomenal selection of expertly sourced regional native wines, and now the Bobo team are passing on their love and knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese wine by hosting a monthly club where guests can enjoy a 90-minute tasting session, discovering new, rare and unusual vintages.
Held in conjunction with Hallgarten Wines, who were awarded the European Wine Merchant of the Year at the 2020 Sommelier Wine Awards, September’s tasting, on Wednesday 1st is entitled ‘More to Spain’ and focuses on the historical production of wine across the country which dates from as far back at the 7th Century.
Tickets to the event are £25.00pp and which includes a menu of six pre-selected wines plus light nibbles. Advanced booking is highly recommended as places are limited.
