The Royal Albert Dock Liverpool has been a firm favourite with Liverpool residents enjoying waterfront walks throughout the pandemic, and with restrictions on non-essential shops and outdoor dining set to be lifted from 12th April, many of the dock businesses are preparing to safely welcome visitors back with extended outdoor seating areas and enhanced cleaning measures.

The dock’s sheltered colonnades and waterfront setting make it a prime spot for outdoor dining, with six of the restaurants extending their outdoor areas to accommodate more diners, including Gusto, Revolution, Revolution de Cuba, What’s Cooking and Turncoat Bar. Maray’s outdoor dining area has been enhanced within the past year with stylish private booths, whilst over at Anchor Courtyard Madre are adding additional seating and finalising new menus in preparation for reopening.

The Royal Albert Dock estate team have been working tirelessly throughout lockdown to ensure the destination remains a safe place to visit, with visible guidance and signage throughout, and thorough cleaning measures in place.

Sean Morrison, Estate Manager of the dock, said:

“The hard work shown by our cleaning and maintenance teams throughout lockdown has been immense. We’ve added additional cleaning routines to their already robust procedures to ensure the estate is as clean as possible, and we can’t wait to welcome visitors back to the dock to showcase our extended outdoor seating areas”.

Talking about the outdoor dining from 12th April James Bates, co-founder of Maray Dockside said:

“Over a thousand people have booked one of our Dockside booths between 12th April & 16 May, we’re overwhelmed once again by the people of the Liverpool City Region.”

Businesses reopening from April include:

Restaurants – Madre, Gusto, Revolution, Revolucion de Cuba, Turncoat Bar, What’s Cooking, Maray Dockside, Rosa’s Thai Cafe, Lunyalita (weekends from 16th April) & Tate Liverpool Cafe (trading from the quayside at weekends from 17th April)

Retail & attractions – Escape Hunt, Quay Confectionery, Pride Liverpool, The Nest & Leather Satchel Co
