A Wirral-based security company has announced a six-figure investment in artificial intelligence and business technology as it looks to double the size of its business over the next three years.
Copeland Group Services, headquartered in Bromborough, has developed its own operating platform through its in-house technology division, TrakNet Technologies, with the new system now sitting at the heart of the company’s day-to-day operations.
Designed to support the security, monitoring and facilities management sectors, the technology powers everything from CCTV monitoring and access control to workforce management and business intelligence, helping the company prepare for continued expansion across the UK and internationally.
AI Technology Developed in the Liverpool City Region
At the centre of the investment is T.A.L.I.U.M. (Tactical, Adaptive, Logical, Intelligent, Unified Manager), a voice-activated AI assistant that enables staff to access business information simply by asking questions.
The system brings together data from multiple areas of the business, including operations, finance, customer relationships, workforce scheduling and vehicle tracking, allowing staff to receive real-time updates without navigating multiple systems.
Alongside T.A.L.I.U.M., TrakNet Technologies has also developed Copeland Connect, a workforce app that supports mobile patrol teams with clocking in, incident reporting, lone worker safety, vehicle inspections and direct communication with the company’s control room.
The technology suite also includes TrakNet VMS, a remote monitoring platform overseeing more than 7,000 CCTV cameras, fire alarms and intruder alarm systems from Copeland’s control rooms in Bromborough and Stockport.
The platform uses AI-powered facial recognition technology and is capable of monitoring sites across the UK and internationally.
Another innovation, SmartLock, replaces traditional key-based access systems with secure app-controlled entry for vacant properties, warehouses and industrial sites.
UK and International Expansion
The investment forms part of Copeland Group Services’ wider growth strategy as it aims to significantly expand over the next three years through both organic growth and potential acquisitions.
Founded in 2003, the company now employs more than 80 people and generates an annual turnover of around £6 million, providing security, monitoring, maintenance and lone worker protection services to businesses across the UK.
Its clients span a range of sectors including construction, hospitality, logistics, property management and automotive, with services covering mobile patrols, keyholding, CCTV monitoring, alarm response and rapid deployment CCTV towers.
Kyle Disley, Chief Executive of Copeland Group Services, said: “As the business grows, we need systems that scale with it.
“TrakNet is our answer to that challenge and sits at the very core of our strategy. It’s technology we have developed and built ourselves, tailored precisely to what we do and what our clients need.
“It keeps us ahead of the curve, improves efficiency for our teams and futureproofs the business as we expand, both in the UK and internationally.
“The investment in TrakNet is central to our objectives, enabling the company to support more sites, improve integration, attract new business in the UK and internationally, and reduce the administrative burden on our field teams.”
The investment highlights the growing role of Liverpool City Region businesses in developing innovative technology solutions, with homegrown AI and digital platforms increasingly supporting expansion into national and international markets.
