Film crews have returned to Liverpool’s St George’s Hall to shoot further scenes for the upcoming Netflix thriller The Woods.
New images from the latest filming show actor Tom Bateman in character as Paul ‘Cope’ Copeland outside the landmark. The scenes appear to show the character leaving the building following what looks to be a court-related sequence.

Bateman plays a successful barrister in the eight-part limited series, making the historic surroundings of St George’s Hall a fitting backdrop for the latest scenes. Further details about the sequence remain under wraps, but the new images offer another glimpse at the production as filming continues across Liverpool and the wider North West.
The crew previously visited St George’s Hall in May, when Bateman was pictured filming alongside cast members Mandeep Dhillon and Roger Barclay. Parts of the Liverpool landmark were used for several scenes, while production has also taken place at Hamilton Square in Birkenhead.

What is Netflix’s The Woods about?
Based on Harlan Coben’s 2007 novel, The Woods follows Paul ‘Cope’ Copeland, whose sister Camille disappeared from a summer camp 20 years earlier.
Now a leading barrister and single father, Cope has attempted to rebuild his life following the tragedy. However, the discovery of a body connected to the original case leads him to question whether his sister could have survived.
His search for answers brings long-hidden secrets back to the surface and reunites him with his former love, Lucy Silverfield, played by Michelle Keegan.

The series also stars Mandeep Dhillon as Loren Muse, Pearce Quigley as Ira Silverfield, James Buckley as Lonnie Berger, Roger Barclay as EJ Jenrette and Tracy-Ann Oberman as Jessica Kinberg.
The Woods has been written by Danny Brocklehurst, who previously adapted the Harlan Coben thrillers Fool Me Once, Stay Close and Run Away for Netflix. Production is being handled in partnership with Manchester-based Quay Street Productions.
Liverpool has regularly been chosen as a filming location for major television dramas and films, with St George’s Hall providing the backdrop for productions including The Batman, Peaky Blinders and The Irregulars.
Netflix has not yet announced when The Woods will be released, with production continuing across Liverpool, Manchester and other locations in the North West.
