As Liverpool prepares for another spell of glorious sunshine, award-winning café bistro The Watering Can is inviting guests to savour the very best of the season with the launch of an exciting new summer menu, celebrating vibrant flavours, artisan ingredients and relaxed dining in one of the city’s most picturesque park-side settings.
Overlooking the beautiful surroundings of Greenbank Park, The Watering Can has become one of Liverpool’s favourite destinations for breakfast, brunch and leisurely lunches. Now, just in time for the warmest months of the year, the much-loved café bistro has unveiled a menu inspired by the colours, freshness and abundance of the British summer.

Carefully curated by the restaurant’s talented kitchen team, the new menu combines comforting Watering Can classics with exciting seasonal additions, all prepared using premium ingredients and many of the artisan breads and pastries baked fresh each morning by the venue’s own Frankley’s Bakery.
Guests can choose from an impressive selection of snacks, sides, small plates, and generous mains, alongside a delicious range of deluxe sandwiches, including favourites such as the Chicken Tikka Sandwich and the ever-popular Salmon & Whipped Goat’s Cheese.
The refreshed lunch menu is packed with dishes designed to suit every appetite. Signature favourites, including The Watering Can’s iconic Steak Burger, spicy Nduja Rigatoni, Spinach & Ricotta Aubergine Lasagne and the legendary Posh Fish Finger Sandwich, sit alongside lighter summer options such as the colourful Crispy Chickpea Bowl, a flavour-filled Tuna Salad and the classic Chicken Caesar Salad.
Breakfast remains at the heart of The Watering Can experience, with the restaurant’s award-winning Full English Breakfast continuing to headline the menu, accompanied by vegetarian and vegan alternatives and an enticing collection of lighter seasonal dishes. Guests can enjoy Smoked Salmon with Whipped Goat’s Cheese on freshly baked sourdough, rich Chorizo Shakshuka, or Deluxe Wild Mushrooms, all served on artisan Frankley’s Bakery bloomer bread, perfect for long, leisurely mornings overlooking the park.
Whether enjoying breakfast after a morning stroll, catching up with friends over lunch or simply relaxing with coffee and cake in the sunshine, the new menu has been created to capture everything that makes summer dining so special.

Keith Perryman, owner of The Watering Can, said:
“Summer is all about fresh flavours, beautiful ingredients and taking time to enjoy great food with family and friends. Our new menu reflects exactly that. We’ve introduced some exciting new dishes while keeping many of the customer favourites that people travel across the region to enjoy. Combined with our beautiful park-side setting and the artisan breads baked daily by Frankley’s Bakery, we genuinely believe this is one of our strongest seasonal menus yet.”
The launch comes as Liverpool experiences one of its hottest summers in recent years, with outdoor dining proving more popular than ever. With its spacious terrace overlooking Greenbank Park, award-winning food and warm hospitality, The Watering Can offers the perfect place to escape the city, unwind in the sunshine and enjoy the very best flavours of the season.
As temperatures continue to climb, the new summer menu looks set to become another winning ingredient in The Watering Can’s ongoing success story, offering guests the perfect excuse to linger a little longer and savour everything that summer has to offer.
