Sun seekers across Merseyside can look forward to the ultimate alfresco experience as three popular suburban venues open up their stunning outdoor spaces for the warmer months.

With temperatures set to climb into the mid-30s over the coming days and demand for outdoor dining and drinking spaces on the rise, South Liverpool is home to some of the city’s most picturesque suntraps for making the most of the summer sunshine.

From stunning park views and hidden terraces to award-winning al fresco dining, these standout venues are inviting guests to unwind and soak up the heatwave in style.

Sefton Park Hotel Terrace Offers Scenic Park Views

Overlooking one of Liverpool’s most iconic green spaces, Sefton Park Hotel boasts one of the city’s most inviting outdoor terraces. 

With seating for up to 100 guests, beautiful seasonal planting, all-weather umbrellas and unrivalled views across Sefton Park, the terrace provides the perfect setting for alfresco drinks, dining and socialising throughout the summer.

Whether catching up with friends and family, enjoying a relaxed date night or simply taking in the scenic surroundings, the terrace offers a tranquil retreat for both hotel guests and visitors.

Guests can also enjoy the recently opened Sefton Park Bistro & Bar, which combines historic charm with contemporary comfort in a relaxed lounge-style setting. 

The bistro operates Wednesday to Sunday, serving food from 12 pm to 9 pm Wednesday to Saturday and 12 pm–8 pm on Sundays.

The bar remains open seven days a week.

The Watering Can Reveal Summer Deals

Nestled within the picturesque surroundings of Greenbank Park, award-winning venue The Watering Can is embracing the sunshine with a special Summer Lunch for Two offer.

Guests can enjoy two Chicken Caesar Salads, skin-on fries to share, olives and a chilled carafe of white wine for just £22 perseon, making it the ideal way to enjoy a chilled afternoon during the heatwave.

Renowned as one of Liverpool’s most beautiful dining destinations, The Watering Can is expected to see high demand for its outdoor seating over the coming days.

With its park-side location, relaxed atmosphere and popular breakfast, brunch and lunch menus, it remains a firm favourite among South Liverpool residents and visitors alike.

The Wheelbarrow Happy Hour Promotion

To celebrate the warm weather, The Wheelbarrow is offering a special Happy Hour Spritz promotion, with two spritzes available for £15 between 4 pm and 6 pm. 

Guests can pair drinks with a range of aperitivo-style nibbles, including olives, Frankley’s focaccia and Italiano Aperitivo-loaded crisps topped with nduja, melted mozzarella and chilli honey.

For those seeking alcohol-free alternatives, the venue’s refreshing Spritzero combines Wilfred’s non-alcoholic bitter orange and rosemary aperitivo for a great summer serve. 

Tucked away beside Greenbank Sports Academy and just moments from Sefton Park, The Wheelbarrow has earned a reputation as one of South Liverpool’s favourite hidden gems.

The stylish south-facing terrace, accommodating up to 60 guests, has become a sought-after destination for walkers, brunch lovers and groups of friends seeking a relaxed escape within the city.

Surrounded by vibrant greenery and complete with oversized umbrellas for shaded dining, the terrace enjoys sunshine well into the evening, creating the perfect backdrop for leisurely lunches and summer cocktails.
