Although the crowds won’t be filling up Aintree Racecourse for 2021, the anticipation is building ahead of the 2021 Grand National in Liverpool this Saturday.
There will be no spectators, but there will be live coverage of the event from BBC Radio 5 Live and there will be live text commentary and all the latest news on the BBC Sport website.
The Randox Grand National is one of world sport’s most famous events, watched each year by more than 500 million people in more than 140 countries.
The day itself is packed with competitive racing but the feature is of course the Randox Grand National towards the end of the day, a marathon test of four and a quarter mile which tests the skill, determination and stamina of a racehorse like no other.
The race, which was cancelled last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic, is due off at 17:15 BST.
A field of 40 runners and four reserves have been named for the Grand National at Aintree on Saturday.
