Newly opened hotspot The Potting Shed Bar & Gardens and FirePit Smokehouse & Sports Bar have now unveiled a new rooftop terrace and private function room.
With the next couple of months set to be one of the hottest Summer’s to date, the outdoor terrace couldn’t have opened at a more suited time! The venue, created on the site of the former Sandgrounder pub on the iconic Lord Street, is set to have the crowds flooding in to indulge in some delicious food, mouth-watering beverages and of course some sun rays.
Located on the ground and first floor of the premises, owners concept bar specialists Ormsborough Ltd have made the most of the upper level to add an outdoor grassed terrace with retractable roof and a private function space. With its own dedicated bar, the roof garden has plenty of room for al fresco drinking in the sun and there’s an option to hire out that and the function space together, so the two combined can host private parties of up to 200.
Operations manager Jade Renner says the new roof area promises to be a major attraction, in all weathers, and fits perfectly with The Potting Shed’s garden theme.
“We really love the location of the new bars, right on Lord Street, but when we took on the site we were restricted with outside space,” she explained. “We were able to have outdoor tables on the pavement, but there was nowhere at ground level to create a beer garden.
“We were obviously keen to give people the option of a beautiful outdoor space, which we have in our other Potting Shed venues, so we went up instead of out!
“The roof area has been transformed so now there’s a terrace, with a retractable roof so it will work in all seasons, and we have a room which is available for private hire – both served by their own upper floor bar.
“The Potting Shed and FirePit have already proved hugely popular with Southport customers and we’re confident they’re going to love the roof terrace because it means they won’t have to miss a minute of the fabulous sunshine!”
With the current heatwave not going away anytime soon, head down to Lord Street for some fun in the sun!
