The Liver Birds have represented Liverpool as the symbol of the city for over 800 years, and Liverpool is also home to over another 100 birds dotted around the city streets.
Bringing a touch of history and capturing the beauty of the city streets along the way, is ArtsGroupie’s Liver Bird Safari Walking Tour.
Although people of Liverpool and beyond are quite partial to the world-famous duo Bertie and Bella, who stand tall in all their aniseed green glory on top of the iconic Liver Building, the tour allows you to get to know the history behind the other hidden birds of the city that are enriched in Liverpool’s fine tapestry.
The fun two-hour walking tour safari takes bird-spotting to a whole new level and is perfect for all the family to be active while also learning the history of Liverpool along the way.
The meeting point for the tour begins outside the front gates of The Bluecoat and visits various locations across the city, ending at the world-famous waterfront.
Walks commence at 2.00pm with various dates available from May onwards throughout the year.
Ticket prices range from £12.00 per adult to £10.00 per child/concessions and are available to book HERE.
Participants on the tour are advised to wear comfortable shoes and ensure they visit the bathroom before the tour commences. Bring an umbrella or waterproof clothing if rain is forecast. Binoculars are an added bonus if you wish to see the birds up close.
ArtsGroupie are a Liverpool based community interest company that is promoting and providing access to the arts in the North West and beyond. They are also creators of the William Roscoe Esquire and Kitty Wilkinson walking tours that celebrate the lives of the two Liverpool Icons.
