An independent alternative music event is returning to Merseyside, bringing a packed lineup of heavy rock and underground punk to the region.
No Play Festival has confirmed its return to Liverpool City Centre on Saturday, 5 September, establishing a massive multi-venue programme for alternative music fans.
The gathering is organised by an independent collective that has been active within the local music scene for more than a decade.
Since launching, the event has expanded into a major fixture on the national heavy music calendar, drawing crowds by pairing rising homegrown talent with established international artists.
Following a successful run last autumn, the team is scaling up the experience for its fourth year, utilising several of the most prominent independent spaces in the city centre.
Who is Headlining No Play Festival?
California hardcore heroes Stick To Your Guns are confirmed as the main headlining act for the celebration.
The appearance follows the launch of their studio album, Keep Planting Flowers, with the band bringing their energetic live performance to the top of the bill.
In a major change for the upcoming iteration, the headliners and the rest of the lineup will perform across entirely barrier-free stages.
Organisers have restructured the layout so that the two main stages run consecutively, allowing for a continuous flow of live music throughout the afternoon and evening. Attendees can expect a raw, close-up experience designed to match the community-driven roots of the underground rock scene.
Multi-Stage Lineup Across Independent Venues
The one-day metro festival will take over five distinct stages across Liverpool, running from midday until 10:00 pm.
Core independent venues participating in the event include the Arts Club, Rough Trade on Hanover Street, Kazimier Stockroom, and the Jacaranda Club.
A central feature of the setup is the Guillotine Stage, located inside the Jacaranda Basement.
Named after the monthly local showcase nights run by the organisers, this specific platform is dedicated entirely to promoting emerging grassroots musicians discovered through local performance sessions.
Joining the headliners on the broader international and UK bill are newly announced acts such as Roman Candle, Fools Game, Malignant Methods, Safeguard, Dormant, Sunday Best, and Invasion, alongside previously confirmed performers Spy and Spaced.
