Liverpool’s award-winning Stanley Park Market is set to return next week for its third consecutive run, cementing its place as the city’s largest weekday market.
The popular community hub will resume on Wednesday, 1 April, with a special Easter event to celebrate the start of the new season, which is scheduled to run until December.
While the first market of 2026 was initially due to take place tomorrow, Wednesday 25 March, it is now unable to operate for health and safety reasons due to forecasted high winds.
From 1 April, up to 100 stalls will descend on Anfield every Wednesday from 9 am to 3 pm.
Traders will offer a diverse range of items, including fresh local produce, clothing, homeware, toys, and pet products.
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of hot food and drink stalls, with a large seating area provided for those looking to meet friends or take a break from their shopping.
Throughout the year, the market will also host a variety of community groups and local organisations dedicated to supporting public health and wellbeing.
Easter Extravaganza and Community Support at Stanley Park
The launch on Wednesday, 1 April, promises fun for all the family through an Easter themed day.
The event will feature an Easter egg hunt, themed arts and crafts, children’s characters, and an appearance from small farm animals.
Beyond the entertainment, the market continues its role as a vital resource for local families.
Health visitors and school nurses will be in attendance to offer advice on childhood health, while the Everton and Anfield children’s centres will deliver creative sessions alongside a story corner hosted by Liverpool libraries.
The market arrives in 2026 with a growing reputation, having been named the winner of the best community market in Britain in 2025.
It also recently received a highly commended recognition at the 2026 British Market Awards. Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Culture, Councillor Harry Doyle, expressed his pride in the market’s impact:
“Stanley Park Market has become a beloved staple of our markets offer, so we’re excited to see it return for its third season.
“The market has a real community feel to it, people can meet up with their neighbours, family and friends, do a spot of shopping, and have a bite to eat, all while supporting local businesses.
“As well as Stanley Park, we have many other markets taking place across the city throughout the year, from our usual weekly offers like Greatie and Garston to our farmers and artisan markets and specialist one-off pop-ups.
“All of our markets offer a real, local shopping experience and they are a fantastic way to connect neighbourhoods and support our local businesses and community groups.”
Important Matchday and Event Information for Visitors
As the market is situated in the heart of North Liverpool’s sporting district, there are specific operational constraints to note.
The market will not run on days when there are evening football matches or concerts held at Goodison Park or Anfield Stadium, as the site is reserved for those events.
This ensures that the local infrastructure can support the large influx of visitors expected for major stadium fixtures.
For those looking to explore the wider range of shopping opportunities in the region, additional information on Liverpool Markets can be found at the official council website.
From the historic “Greatie” to local artisan pop-ups, the city continues to expand its support for local traders and neighbourhood connections.
