A spectacular new immersive experience narrated by Sir David Attenborough has opened at Chester Zoo, taking visitors on an extraordinary journey through the history of our planet.
Our Story with David Attenborough opened to the public on Saturday 17 October, bringing the acclaimed production to the North West for the first time following a hugely successful run at London’s Natural History Museum.

More than 245,000 people experienced the attraction during its time in London, and now visitors to Chester Zoo can discover the breathtaking story of Earth through cutting-edge technology, spectacular visuals and powerful storytelling.
The 50-minute experience uses extraordinary natural history footage, scientifically accurate animation and 360-degree projections across walls and floors to transport audiences through four billion years of Earth’s history.

A former Ape House at Chester Zoo has been transformed into a state-of-the-art immersive space, allowing visitors to feel completely surrounded by the sights and sounds of the natural world.
Created in collaboration with Sir David Attenborough and award-winning Open Planet Studios, Our Story explores the incredible evolution of life on Earth, the impact humans have had on the environment and how people can work alongside nature to create a better future.

Chester Zoo is the first venue outside London to host the full original production, giving families and wildlife enthusiasts across the North the opportunity to experience the attraction without travelling to the capital.
Dom Strange, Chief Operating Officer at Chester Zoo, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to have brought Our Story to Chester. It’s a remarkable experience, and being the first venue outside London to host the full production makes this a really special moment for us.
“Sir David Attenborough has inspired generations of people to care about the natural world. This experience gives people the chance to immerse themselves in the story of our planet in a completely different way – and we hope they leave with a renewed sense of wonder about the world around them, and what we can do to protect it.”

The production combines stunning real-world cinematography, animation and storytelling with an original musical score by Tony Award- and Olivier Award-nominated composer Nick Powell.
While exploring the challenges facing the natural world, the experience ultimately delivers a message of hope, encouraging audiences to consider their relationship with nature and the choices that will shape the future of the planet.
Our Story with David Attenborough is now open at Chester Zoo, with tickets starting from £15.
