There’s something about the warm glow of a roaring fire that instantly makes us think of Christmas.
For Jenny, it was Christmas Eve when she would put on new pyjamas, before leaving a glass of milk and a mince pie by the fireplace for Father Christmas. Or the next morning when her dad would go downstairs into the cold living room and light the fire, closely followed by the rest of the family, eager to open their presents.
And even today, there’s nothing we love more, when it’s cold outside, than to drink some mulled wine and watch our favourite Christmas movie under a heap of blankets in front of the fire.
