From Tuesday 26 to Friday 29 May, there’s a packed programme of family-friendly activities at Shakespeare North Playhouse!
The upcoming schedule features a variety of creative workshops tailored to different age groups, offering young people the chance to explore performance, storytelling and comedy during the school holidays.
The week begins with Baby Bards on Tuesday, 26 May.
Parents and guardians can join the Learning & Engagement Team for an early years story and language session for preschool children aged 18 months to 4 years old.
This introductory session focuses on early communication skills through interactive narrative structures in a relaxed theatrical environment.
Prescot Cultural Hub Unveils Creative Arts Workshops for Regional Youth
The specialised holiday curriculum blends classical theatrical foundations with modern collaborative performance techniques to engage local students.
Also taking place on Tuesday, 26 May, is Raise Your Voice.
This initiative offers an exciting opportunity for young people in year groups 7,8,9 and 10 to use creativity to amplify their voices.
Young people will work with professional artists to unlock their creative potential, develop new skills, and produce meaningful projects that will impact their community.
The performance schedule transitions into practical playwriting and fast-paced stage production later in the week, utilising the venue’s educational facilities to foster teamwork.
On Thursday, 28 May, the theatre will host Shakespeare from Scratch.
This session invites participants to make a brand-new play in just one day!
Using Shakespeare’s themes, characters and stories, create a brand-new piece of work from scratch (for ages 8-13).
Improvisation Classes and Seasonal Performance Schedules Expand Holiday Bookings
The final sessions focus on comedic timing and spontaneous dramatic play, expanding the venue’s broader seasonal entertainment lineup. The half-term daytime itinerary concludes with Find Your Funny on Friday, 29 May.
Interested families can join Joker Jen to exercise their funny bones.
This workshop will use improvisation games and drama exercises to explore what makes us laugh. No experience necessary! Separate sessions for ages 5-7 and 8-11.
Beyond the dedicated youth schedule, the Prescot-based arts venue continues to expand its evening and weekend programming for broader audiences throughout the spring.
