Liverpool’s hospitality scene has a fresh addition as the Sefton Collection officially opens its latest boutique property, 19 Duke Street.
Located in the heart of the city centre, the 26-bedroom hotel brings new life to a Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse that was previously home to the award-winning Lock and Key.
Following a significant investment of over £100,000, the building has been carefully updated to blend its original period character with the modern comforts expected by today’s travellers.
The result is a high-quality, accessible stay in one of the city’s most desirable places.
Upgraded Guest Experience in a Prime Location

The rooms at 19 Duke Street have been fully enhanced, now featuring luxury toiletries, Nespresso coffee machines, and a range of premium amenities.
The hotel offers a round-the-clock reception, concierge services, and guest room service, with even more features expected to be rolled out in the coming months.
Positioned just 50 metres from the Liverpool ONE shopping and leisure district, the hotel is perfectly placed for city breaks.
Major attractions like the Royal Albert Dock, The Beatles Story, and the M&S Bank Arena are all within a ten-minute walk.
Midweek introductory rates starting at £79 per room make it an attractive option for both business and leisure visitors looking for a central base.
Expanding an Independent Liverpool Legacy

The launch of 19 Duke Street marks a milestone for the Sefton Collection, bringing its total number of Liverpool properties to six.
With 292 bedrooms now under its management, it stands as the largest privately owned, independent hotel group in the North of England.
This unbranded approach allows each site, including others like Ropewalks Hotel and Sefton Park Hotel, to maintain its own distinct personality and local charm.
The new opening has also boosted the local economy by creating 10 new jobs, bringing the group’s total workforce to 160 employees.
Conor O’Donovan, CEO of Sefton Collection, said:
“19 Duke Street represents an exciting addition to our growing Liverpool portfolio.
“We are proud to continue investing in the city’s hospitality sector, creating jobs and enhancing historic buildings to deliver high-quality guest experiences in prime city-centre locations.”
This expansion is part of a broader wave of investment for the group. Their Sefton Park Hotel is currently undergoing a £250,000 refurbishment, which is scheduled for completion in spring 2026.
Alongside its hotels, the Sefton Collection continues to operate several popular city venues, including the Irish sports bar Dicey Reilly’s and the versatile event spaces at Clubhouse and Baby Clubhouse.
