The annual ‘Sarah White Skin Social’ event, which took place at Thornton Hall hotel earlier this month, has raised over £3.5k for the Devonshire House Dementia Village in Birkenhead.
The glittering event, which was designed to showcase Sarah White Aesthetics skin and wellbeing clinic based in Heswall was attended by over 300 guests, all of whom gave generously to this year’s nominated charity, Age UK Wirral.

The main sponsor for the evening, Boodles Liverpool, donated a £2k diamond necklace for the exclusive raffle and businesses from across Wirral also supported the event with prizes, give-aways and pop-up stalls.
Speaking about the event, Sarah White said she was overwhelmed by the generosity of guests on the night:
“The charity holds a very special place in my heart as I lost my amazing Dad earlier this year to dementia and I have seen first-hand just how much the Dementia Village and Devonshire House do to support clients, families and carers. It’s such a worthwhile cause, and I cannot thank everyone enough for their support.”
Along with keynote speaker Elissa Corrigan, founder of leading wellness brand Elle Sera, the team were also joined by Moya Loche, who is currently caring for her husband John who has early onset dementia. Speaking to guests on the night, Moya explained how invaluable the support she has received from Age UK Wirral has been. In a moving speech, she explained how difficult, the long and painful process of seeing a loved one live with dementia can be for family and friends.

Lynne Hamilton, Head Fundraiser at Age UK Wirral, was also blown away by the amount raised on the night:
“It was a truly fabulous night, filled with warmth, generosity, and incredible support. Together, we raised a staggering amount of money that will have a meaningful impact on the lives of older people across Wirral.
Your kindness helps us continue providing vital services, companionship, and support to those who need it most. We are deeply grateful for every contribution and every effort that made the evening such a success.”
The Dementia Village was originally created as part of the re-launch of Challenge Anneka 3 years ago, which saw TV legend Anneka Rice and her team enlist the help of businesses from across Wirral, to bring Lynne’s vision of a purpose built ‘memory village’ to life. The facility now houses a retro style record shop, post office, cinema and café, all set around a village green and freshly landscaped gardens, which provides a safe and nostalgic space for client with dementia and their families.
