Santa’s Stories returns with new Christmas film showings at Duke Street Market

  • November 15, 2021
  • Editor

Santa’s Stories will be held on Saturday 4th and 11th December at Duke Street Market, and Christmas films for both the family and adults will be shown throughout December.

The market’s enchanting Christmas decorations will be installed from 15th November, with its festive floating Christmas tree taking centre stage.

Beautifully made garlands and wreaths line the market and it’s also adorned in twinkling fairy lights.

On Saturday 4th and Saturday 11th December, Santa will be visiting the market for a special storytime from 11.30am-12.30pm. For £15 per child, the children will gather around Santa to read a couple of stories before receiving a present and having their photograph taken with Santa himself.

Children’s sweets and drinks will be provided and tickets can be purchased via this link.

And this year, Duke Street Market will also be hosting numerous Christmas film showings for the first time.

On Sunday 5th, Sunday 12th and Sunday 19th, from 11.30am-1.30pm, families can gather to watch family friendly Christmas films including the Grinch, Elf and The Polar Express.

There are limited tickets available. Family tickets (two adults and two children) are £20, or it’s £7 per adult and £5 per child. Children will receive a goody bag and adults will be able to enjoy a complimentary coffee. Tickets can be purchased here.

For the grown ups, there’s special adult only evenings on Tuesday 7th and Tuesday 14th November.

For £25 per person, guests will receive a Christmas cocktail on arrival followed by food, whilst they enjoy festive favourites including The Holiday and Home Alone.

With arrival from 6.45pm, food will be served at 7.30pm with the film starting at 8pm and tickets can be purchased via this link.

Lee Bannon-Smith, General Manager at Duke Street Market, said:

“It really is the most wonderful time of the year and the festive atmosphere at the market is second to none. Each year, we have a beautiful decoration display, but this year we’ve taken it a step further and added more lights, more garlands and decorated our private events space where the Christmas film showings and Santa’s Stories will take place.

“The market is family friendly and so we wanted to create events that will allow parents and their children to make lovely Christmas memories. The adult film showings will be great for groups of friends or couples, and paired with our delicious dishes and Christmas cocktails, it’s perfect for the festive season.”
