Royal Liver Building Is Officially Liverpool’s New Proposal Hotspot

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching we are reminded ever so eloquently by another famous Liverpool institution in the form of the fab four, that ‘love is all you need’. The city is preparing for romance and as always, at this time of year, proposal planning is in full throttle with many choosing the most romantic day of the year to get down on bended knee and ask their loved one to marry them.

In a city as beautiful as Liverpool there are many scenic places you could choose to make the most romantic of gestures but none quite as iconic as The Royal Liver Building.

Now operators of RLB360, the new tour and experience of the Royal Liver Building, say they have seen over 30 proposals since the doors to the attraction opened for the first time last year. And it seems like this number is to continue to grow this valentines with more rumoured to be planning rooftop proposals.

Alex Bower from RLB 360 said: “With the stunning backdrop of the city and beyond and under the watchful eye of Liverpool’s longest standing love birds, Bella and Bertie, the Liver Building really is the perfect proposal spot. We’ve witnessed over 30 people popping the question since we opened the tour to the top of the building last year and more and more are now making enquiries. We’re expecting a busy Valentine’s period at the most iconic building in the city.”

The first proposal, between childhood sweethearts Lauren Holloway and Jake Dawson in August 2019, went down in Liverpool history as the first couple to get engaged at the top of the Liver Building since opening to public tours.

“I don’t know who was more shocked, me or the tour guide. I burst into tears, it was absolutely amazing,” said Lauren Holloway.

After being inundated with romantic questions and private proposal requests RLB360 have created a bespoke proposal package to make your moment as magical as possible.

We won’t give too much away in case you’re one of the lucky ones about to be surprised but what we will say is you will be able to make your first toast, of many, as a newly engaged couple with the stunning Liverpool backdrop and take away your own personalised keepsake.
