Liverpool’s underground music and arts festival, Outer Waves, has unveiled the complete final lineup for its 2026 edition.
The festival is set to return to Liverpool’s North Docks, taking over the Invisible Wind Factory and Make CIC from 23 to 24 May 2026.
This final announcement cements the event’s reputation as one of the UK’s most ambitious international underground gatherings, with a bill that spans continents and experimental genres.
Headlining the weekend are ØXN, featuring Radie Peat of Lankum, and the electrifying industrial duo Dame Area.
They are joined by Jarboe (Swans) alongside Thor Harris and Joy Von Spain.
A significant highlight of the programme is the world premiere of HAND TO MOUTH TO, a newly reimagined live performance commissioned by Outlands Network and Full of Noises, collaboratively composed and performed by Keeley Forsyth and long-time collaborator Matthew Bourne.
Final Lineup Additions and Local Commissions
The final wave of artists joining the festival includes HHY & the Kampala Unit, Elspeth Anne, a Lesser Version, and Those Holy featuring Ly Nguyěn, Jacques Malchance, and veve.
They join a roster that already boasts the ritual electronics of Lord Spikeheart and the fusion sounds of Waq Waq Kingdom.
In addition to the international acts, Outer Waves has commissioned new works from local Liverpool artists, including Coby Obi, S. Fearon, Quieting (in partnership with Music Futures), and Tomas Edgar (Dada Fest).
The festival weekend will extend beyond music to include a variety of panel talks, workshops, and afterparties.
Immersive Visual Art and International Reach
The 2026 edition will also feature an expansive visual art programme designed to transform the North Docks.
Immersive and site-specific installations will be presented by Kromavision, Sam Wiehl, Freddy Francke, and Jasmine Murphy, creating a sensory experience that moves beyond the stage.
Outer Waves continues to foster connections between Liverpool and the global avant-garde community, with performers travelling from across Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Weekend and Day Tickets are currently available starting from £40 on their website.
