One of the most highly anticipated performances will take place on Sunday 22nd June, as 17-time Grammy Award-winning global icon Sting makes his long-awaited return to Liverpool for On the Waterfront, his first in over two decades.
The legendary musician will headline the closing night, delivering a career-spanning set alongside virtuoso guitarist Dominic Miller and powerhouse drummer Chris Maas (Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers).
Liverpool’s iconic Pier Head is set to come alive once again as the On the Waterfront concert series returns from Thursday 19th – Sunday 22nd June 2025. With an electrifying lineup and a stunning riverside backdrop, this year’s event promises to be bigger than ever.
More acts have just been announced for the closing edition which will see Liverpool legends The Christians join the bill, the celebrated 80s soul-pop band fronted by the charismatic Garry Christian, known for timeless hits such as Forgotten Town, Ideal World, and Born Again, The Christians continue to captivate audiences with their socially conscious lyrics and Garry’s unmistakable voice—hailed as “one of the finest in pop.”
Another new addition is American born, classically trained pianist, songwriter and producer Sophie Grey. Describing her sound as Retro Electro—a fusion of soulful pop, hip-hop, and 80s-inspired beats—Sophie will be bringing a fresh and dynamic energy to the festival stage, completing the bill is Liverpool’s own TRAITS, making waves in the local music scene, these rising stars are ones to watch. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Liverpool’s waterfront—framed by the historic Three Graces and the River Mersey—On The Waterfront Festival 2025 promises an unmissable weekend of live music and unforgettable moments.
