The team at No 9 Bar and Kitchen, based in Cherry Lane, Anfield, are celebrating the success of their recent family fun day by announcing future dates, where they will be opening their doors with the aim of embracing customers of all ages.
The hugely popular and energetic venue, which is well known for its breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus as well as entertainment, including supporting local artists through its ‘open mic’ nights, No9 Bar and Kitchen has proved itself to be a hit. As well as being a much-loved community hub, which welcomes customers in a friendly setting, No. 9 has also become renowned for supporting valued local charities and causes.
No. 9’s first dedicated family fun day has proved to be such a huge triumph that the team are already planning for further, similar events. The families who were welcomed enjoyed a whole host of treats including face painting for kids, free ice cream and gifts for every child in attendance. As well as enjoying live music from local artists Nat Kelly, and Andy Hodgson, the biggest draw of the day was a surprise visit from TV legends, the Teletubbies, who certainly enjoyed joining in with the events of the day alongside the rest of the guests.
Owners Alan and Gemma Bresnahan, who are both from Walton, have invested in and grown No9 Bar and Kitchen into a place which has become a meeting zone for people of all ages, and a fun space where they can relax and connect, which they both feel is more important now than ever before. Their laid-back menu attracts customers seven days a week.
Gemma Bresnahan, co-owner of No. 9 Bar and Kitchen, explains:
“Everyone on our team has worked so hard to get us to the place we are in now, and we feel it is a privilege to have been able to extend our business, and create even more employment for our local community. We decided to launch our family day to provide something fun and upbeat for local families. It has been such a difficult and challenging time for them during lockdown, and children in particular have missed out on so much.
Our first event went even better than planned. With the live music there was something for grown-ups, too, and all the treats went down so well with the kids. The Teletubbies were the stars of the show, though! They are still a big draw for children, and the kids in attendance could not wait to meet them. We were so lucky that they showed up for us, and all the families who spent the day with us said they could not wait for the next one.Â
We now look forward to organising further family fun day events, which will complement our already full and varied summer roster. We really do aim to provide something for everyone in the community and consider it a real honour that we have been embraced so warmly by our customers.”
Meetings have also taken place between the owners of No9 and the council in a bid to regenerate both Cherry Lane and Cherry Avenue. Items such as improved lighting and improving the look of both roads aesthetically. This is ongoing and more follow up meetings with all local businesses in this zone are planned soon to back the bid.Â
As the school holidays approach and the weather brightens, everyone at No. 9 Bar and Kitchen will continue to open their doors and offer their upbeat, signature welcome to everyone, and now particularly, to families in search of fun, entertainment, and the opportunity to create treasured memories.
No. 9 Bar and Kitchen is open 7 days a week from 9 am – 10.30 pm. Food is served from 9am to 8pm.
The neighbourhood venue is also dog friendly.
