Liverpool City Council is set to launch its 12th Family Hub this week as it looks to establish a hub in every neighbourhood.
This will be the sixth hub that has been opened in 2026 so far, adding to the six that had opened previously.
The 12th hub, which will be known as the Best Start Everton Family Hub and Nursery School, will officially become a Family Hub on Thursday, 23 April (10am – 12pm) with a special launch event being held to mark the occasion.
Anyone is welcome, and there will be a range of fun family activities available as well as information, advice, and support. Food and refreshments will also be provided. There’s no need to book, everyone is welcome and can just drop in.
Coordinated Support for Every Community
Building on the well-established strengths of Liverpool’s Children’s Centres, a Family Hub is a place where all families with children and young people aged 0-19 (or 25 if the young person has special educational needs or disabilities) can access coordinated support, information, advice, and activities.
Cllr Joanne Kennedy, Cabinet Member for Employment, Educational Attainment & Skills at Liverpool City Council, said:
“Our ambition was that every neighbourhood in Liverpool can access their own Family Hub, and this expansion means that we’re now well on our way to delivering that.
“Over recent weeks we’ve had a flurry of launch events at the new hubs, and I’ve been blown away by how many families have turned up to see what their local hub has to offer.
“This just shows how needed these hubs are and will be to providing families with the right support within their own communities.”
A Growing Local Network
The other eleven operational Family Hubs in Liverpool are Clubmoor, Fountains, Granby, Picton, Speke, Stoneycroft, Fazakerley, Kensington, Belle Vale, Wavertree and Dovedale.
There were previously only five Family Hubs in Liverpool, but the council has expanded this number to twelve, ensuring every community can access a hub close to home.
Emphasising the purpose of these local centres, Cllr Joanne Kennedy added:
“Family Hubs are there to ensure families can find a multitude of resources and activities designed to support their health, education, and wellbeing, in a supportive environment.
“Please go and visit your local Family Hub once it’s open to find out more about the services they can offer.”
