From local legends to global sounds, Liverpool Philharmonic is marking the 10th anniversary of the Music Room with a fortnight of specially curated performances.
Running from Sunday 28 September to Monday 13 October 2025, highlights include:
- Barbara Dickson, the legendary Scottish singer, songwriter, musician, and actress who performed her farewell tour at Philharmonic Hall last year, returns for a special one-off intimate concert celebrating Music Room 10.
- Merseyside hero Ian Prowse, who has performed in the Music Room more than any other artist, presents a curated showcase of some of his favourite artists in a special Tuesday night edition of the legendary Monday Club
- The blues are coming to Hope Street with Catfish Keith, Jo Harman and very special guest Connie Lush – who performed the very first test event at the Music Room’s launch
- La Feria Festival by LUMA Creations. One of the Music Room’s key partners are celebrating 50 years since their founders came to Liverpool as refugees with an evening of Latin American music
- A celebration of folk music from across the home nations including Welsh folk musicians VRï, Cerys Hafana and 9Bach, Scotland’s RURA, Siobhan Miller, Breabach and Anna Massie and English folk music by Kathryn Williams, O’Hooley & Tidow, Frankie Archer and Hannah Scott
- With more exciting artists to be announced!

Music Room 10 is a huge celebration of all the venue does. Liverpool Philharmonic’s Open Day will kick off a fortnight of specially crafted performances, featuring plenty of old friends, beloved local organisations and a whole range of talent from across the city, the UK and the world.
Ian Prowse said:
“I feel a deep affinity with the Music Room having been playing there since its inception, watched and felt it come of age, both as an artist and a fan. Our High Summer show is the highlight of my year, the room’s fantastic production values play a big part in that, I know that if we deliver onstage the venue is delivering too. Seeing Damien Dempsey, Amelia Coburn & Tom Robinson there as a fan alerted me to the room’s near perfection as a watcher, I reckon it’ll still be going in 100 years’ time!”
Richard Haswell, Head of Programme at Liverpool Philharmonic said:
“When we first launched this venue in 2015, more than anything we wanted to create an inclusive space, giving audiences and quality experience and the chance to see artists who otherwise wouldn’t have a space to perform in the city. Ten years on, we are proud to welcome back many old friends to help us celebrate this anniversary. The Music Room is a venue that celebrates all kinds of music, grassroots and emerging, folk and roots, jazz and blues, pop and classical and every genre from the world over. Working with a diverse range of partners, it provides a vital platform for all kinds of artists from every conceivable background and every generation, from up-and-coming talent at the start of their careers through to established touring musicians.”
Music Room 10 begins on Sunday 28 September with Liverpool Philharmonic’s Open Day, a free event for audiences to drop in, enjoy a packed programme of musical taster sessions and experiences, and discover everything Liverpool Philharmonic has got on offer. Including mini concerts by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir and takeover sessions in the Music Room presented by Milap, Liverpool Acoustic, LUMA Creations and Africa Oyé, showcasing artists from across the city and around the globe.
