Young musicians from across the Liverpool City Region and Warrington are set to take centre stage this December as Scousevision, a brand-new, large-scale youth music show, makes its debut at ACC Liverpool.

Auditions are now open for performers, with the show welcoming community groups, school choirs, independent artists, solo musicians, vocalists, and bands up to the age of 21 (or 25 for SEND participants).

The concert, taking place on Friday 5 December 2025, will feature twelve live acts performing in front of an audience of nearly 1,000 people, celebrating the diversity, creativity, and ambition of young people across the region.

Scousevision is more than just a performance; it’s an opportunity for young talent to share their sound, connect with peers, spark collaborations, and gain exposure, helping to open doors for the next generation of music makers.

Councillor Mike Wharton, Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Business, Investment and Trade said:

“Scousevision is not a competition, but a celebration – a curated showcase of the region’s most exciting young performers. It highlights the Liverpool City Region’s commitment to nurturing new talent and creating real opportunities for young people who aspire to careers in the music industry.

“It also showcases the collaborative work of Sound! Music Hub working with music services across the region to support and elevate youth creativity and I think we’ll be in for an unforgettable evening supporting our position as the UK’s cultural and creative capital.”

Mel Burton, Strategic Lead of Sound! Music Hub said:

“Scousevision is vibrant, diverse and one of a kind. This isn’t just another showcase – it’s a catalyst for our region’s creative and place ambitions. By welcoming young musicians into a world-class venue like the ACC Liverpool Auditorium, we are bridging the gap between grassroots talent and professional spaces, giving them real insight into the industry and place-shaping power.

“We are immensely proud that every aspect of this event is devised, curated and led by our Sound! Youth Board. Scousevision is a testament to their ambition and truly reflects their vision as young people for the future of creativity across the Liverpool City Region and Warrington.”

The event is organised by the Sound! Music Hub Youth Board, part of the UK network of 43 Music Hubs that provide education and opportunities to children and young people. Funded by the Department for Education (DfE) through Arts Council England, Sound! is led by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the Hub Lead Organisation (HLO).

Serving Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, and Warrington, the Hub brings together a range of music organisations to ensure everyone has the chance to get involved – from traditional lessons to DJing and digital music initiatives.

Chloe Smith, Sound! Music Hub Youth Trustee and Youth Board Member said:

“Scousevision is exciting for the young people in the region as they have the opportunity to showcase their talent and support others in doing so. Music to me is not necessarily what you hear, it’s what you feel, it is the joy you experience no matter where you are in your musical journey.

“I am so enthusiastic to be supporting our young people in this event. It is important that everyone taking part in Scousevision grabs this opportunity with both hands and shows the region the passion of the future generation of musicians. I am thrilled to be taking part and cannot wait to get on stage!”

The deadline for entries is Friday 31 October. Successful performers will be announced on 5 November. For more details on how to get involved, go to the website.
