The Christmas Tractor Convoy returns for the fifth year this Sunday (22nd December 2024). The popular annual event draws crowds to the streets of Liverpool to watch the spectacle with over 100 Christmas-decorated tractors.
Last year’s event raised more than £45,000 for charity via the JustGiving page. The event raises vital funds for causes such as Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Fans Supporting Foodbanks.
Dozens of tractors decked out in sparkling lights will tour the city, spreading holiday cheer and raising critical funds for both charities.
Last year, hundreds of people gathered to watch the procession of massive vehicles decorated with snowmen, reindeer, and fairy lights.
Local farmer Olly Harrison organises the annual Tractor Convoy after being inspired by a similar event on the Isle of Man.
The Liverpool Christmas Tractor Convoy has changed its route this year, now including a drive through The Strand during its three-hour parade.
The convoy is expected to drive down The Strand at 6pm with people encouraged to spectate from both sides.
The Tractor Convoy will pass through the city on Sunday 22nd December. The convoy is expected to leave at 4.50pm and arrive at The Strand at 6pm.
The route will run in a clockwise direction. The approximate arrival times are below:
- 16.50: Tractors arrive at Halewood
- 18.00: Tractors arrive in Strand Street
- 18.30: Tractors arrive in Priory Road (Quiet Zone)
- 19.00: Tractors arrive at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital

Organiser Olly spoke to the Liverpool Echo urging people to not spectate at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital this year as it can cause problems for the staff and area. Instead, Olly asks people to congregate at Halewood Village if they wish to find a permanent spot to see the parade. He has also urged people to remain as far away from the street kerbs as possible to ensure a safe and responsible event. He stated that the behaviour of visitors this year will dictate whether the convoy can return to the city centre in future.
Again this year, the quiet zone will be Stanley Park’s Priory Road, but the convoy will not stop in the area. Lights and noises will be dimmed to accommodate guests with sensory needs.

More than ÂŁ250,000 has been raised since the start of the Liverpool Christmas Tractor Convoy.
